Does anyone else HATE the new grills that BMW is coming out with?

as the title says. I am REALLY turned off by the new look/trend of our BMW's. Both the 7 series and now 5 series have these massive grills that look horrible (in my opinion of course). Also the 5 series GT? what is that? such a strange looking car! Hopefully they don't destroy the new 2012 3 series otherwise this may be my last bmw =[..

anyone else agree?

judging stricly by body style and not performance and etc. i think mercedes has done a MUCH better job with redesigning their C,E,S classes...So far BMW is 0 for 2 with the 7 and 5 series =/

The new grills are big, but it doesn't border me at all. They need the new grill to let more air into the engine.
i didn't ask if i should buy it...im only asking to see what everyone else's opinion on the forum is... To each his own anyway

I swear BMW and Mercedes are getting louder and louder with their cars. Look at the front of new Mercedes and the C-Class. That emblem is so big. Whenever I see it, I think the car is shouting:

I'M A MERCEDES! RAWR!!!

BMW is going in that direction

Not really a bad thing, though.

They certainly are bigger, but they really don't bother me much. I LOVE the grills on the new Z4 though...

Well, the B6 and B7 Audis have huge front grills. I personally don't mind the BMW and Audi front grills. The Merc front grills do look over-the-top though. Definitely not my cup of tea.

I know this is slightly OT, but I'm not feeling other makers' redesigned cars either. The new Acura TL is a perfect example of a redesign gone awry IMO.

I think the new 7 series looks fantastic. Best looking 7er since before the bangle era. The 5 series GT, on the other hand, is pretty hideous. But then again it's a crossover, and I have yet to see a single attractive crossover.

I'll reserve judgment on the new 3 series until I see it without all of its camouflage. Overall, though, I don't have any reason to worry for now.

Let's just say that even if they put a grill shaped like a pig's snout on their cars, FEW people on this forum are gonna walk away anytime. I'm betting on it. Who are you kidding?

I agree with previous posters. As a former 2002 A4 and 2004 S4 owner I HATED the new grills that Audi rolled out. Now the cars I loved look dated and the BIG grills on the newer Audis look great. Just an adjustment.

I'm with you. I like the Z4's, but they are wide and not tall. I think the 7's grills are terribly large.

I was a huge fan of the styling upgrades from the E46 to the E90 (and I still think the E46 exterior was an instant classic). Im a little frightened by what I see happening with the new BMW's grill wise.

BMW used look fantastic through out every series back in '98~2002.
Now other than E92 and X6, I think they all look horrible for how much they cost.

Not partial to the big grills, but what I hate most is the bumper material between the grill and the hood now. Looks out of place. Plus the gap between the hood and bumper is larger on the edges than in the middle. Looks very unfinished. IMO the hood should come right to the edge of the grill like the e92 and LCI e90.
