BMW #4 in List of the World's Most Reputable Companies

Quote:
NEW YORK, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Google and Sony share the top spot in a study of the world's most reputable companies conducted by Reputation Institute. Disney, BMW, and Daimler round out the top five in a consumer survey that measured the reputations of 600 of the world's most prominent companies. The study provides a first ever assessment of the global reputation landscape -- the companies that are most liked, trusted, and respected by the general public across 24 countries. Data collection was powered by Survey Sampling International.

Surprising how low the first Japanese car manufacturer comes in this listing considering how well they all do in the JD Power results.

Generally speaking people who buy asian look at price and reliablity a distant second. Everything else is way down on priorities. Price doesn't always translate into reputation. Look at Wal Mart for example.

Oh wow, that's surprising. Way to go BMW! I really figured Apple would be a lot higher, because everyone knows what an iPod is.

I read somewhere that they actually are the most reliable airline. They have the best record or something.

The list is interesting and probably more than anything it reflects the volume of money corporations invest into public relations. A near podium finish for BMW - congratulations! There is no shame in being beaten by Bambi.

while i love BMW cars,

i wonder if that number 4 position reflects all the customer complaints and the lack of satisfaction in the service department at questionable dealerships.

compare that (satisfaction and complaints) with the other companies on the list and you might find that the chart my actually be very accurate.

I've flown with Singapore Airlines and yeah it was nice and reputable but on a global scale? Maybe for people who've flown with them. Most people in the world probably think Singapore Airlines is the same as any other airline. Where did the surveyors get their information?... From business executives only?

moot.
