Why would this even be an argument? An M car is a completely different breed.

Well of course it's better. That's why you pay $10-20k more for one.

There's more to the value of a car than how fast it runs a 1/4.

Agreed. I love my 335 because it's just as fast, much cheaper insurance and better mpgs!

But, there are at least as many reasons to prefer the M3. Having owned an M car for a while, I feel comfortable saying that they are really quite different cars in terms of overall performance.

Well of course they are but how many of us really go to the track that often to make it worth it. When I had my e60 545 and drove the m5 it was completely different. I thought long and hard about getting the e60 m5 instead of the 335 but I just couldn't justify it.

I don't know, if I wasn't bearing an increasing financial burden for an aging parent, and could justify the higher maintenance costs for my M5 as my DD (in light of the parental responsibilities), I'd still be driving it; track or no track. The driving experience was sublime.

I just smile when I read posts that have to compare one car to another and put one down to make the others "be better"...it is called zero sum game...where the object is to make them be minus one so you can be plus one. I like the plus two game, where each can be appreciated for what it is without the need to resort to putting anyone down. I love BMW...whether it is a 335i or M3 or even back in the day with the 2002tii (I know...old school

What I find interesting is we don't get this crap in the Z forums. Z4M, Z4 3.0, Z4 2.5 whatever (we dont even have separate forums for M and none Ms). Drive whatever you want. You like the M3 drive that, you like the 335 drive that, M5 drive that, Z4 do it.

As long as it's not a 328i who cares... LOL I KID I KID!

I blame the JB3/4 for inflating the ego of your average 335i driver.

lol lets end this thread, a 335i is clearly a very nice mid class 3 series vehicle, while the m3 is the top of the line. there are no comparisons, we're all a Bimmer family

Nah, I didn't post it originally. I saw someone else post it in the m3 forum and reposted it.
