I just got an 08 for my wife and I really love driving it. I have honestly thought about selling my e92 and getting a mini cooper s and seriously modding it (which would add up to less than the price of the 335). I think I would kill it though.

I wouldn't say Mini's are girly. There was a time when no celebrity worth his salt didn't own one. I can cite anyone from Steve McQueen to the Beatles. It was the car to own drive. Of course its that much cooler after Michael Caine immortalized it in the original Italian Job.

On to the current line up: the Cooper S is definitely manly enough, the standard Cooper a 'maybe' (depends how you spec it) but the cabrio (especially in standard form) is big no no

Maybe if you did pic 1.

GP's can still be found, over here anyway. Light, 218bhp. 0-60 around 6.3 as is. I prefer the turbo vs the SC though.

There are many who would argue that many BMWs are 'chick cars' but what does that matter?

I just got through with a 900 mile trip in ours...145mph on the autobahn...it had more, but I didn't want to take it higher. It was really quick...not 335i quick, but there are some confused cars on the autobahn today.

^ At high speed the little fellas stay planted very well IMO. What kind of mileage did you average?

LOL! Well....We went from Germany to Oxford, UK and back. I took it easy on the way out and on the way back all the way through Belgium...averaged about 80mph and got 33.2mpg. Then from the German border all the way back to Hockenheim, I had it opened up a lot...cruising about 110-125 most of the way with some good time spent at 140+. Dropped the mileage down to 31.4mpg.
Agree...they feel very planted at 120mph on the autobahn...even quick lane changes don't upset it...great car!

Sounds like a nice road trip. I am getting 28.4 with my heavy foot in city traffic...I keep thinking it will start dropping but it hasn't at 4K miles. This is just unbelievable to me being the car is as quick as it is.......I know, weight or the lack of.

Quick hard braking seems to lift the rear. I know it's not but it feels like it. Getting used to that short base takes time I guess.

Now I want a JCW or tune the crap out of this one. But with all the spies/tuning these days . I can probably get my money back on this one by the time my JCW arrived. Got to love the value holding power of these cars.
Ranked one or two here in the states.

Take it easy.

Next..but astro black or silver.

Got a Chili Red Cooper for my wife in May. I love driving that little thing. It's a hoot.

Here is the car...it is my wife's (who is British by the way, hence all the Jacked accessories).

The only thing that bothers me with the steering is bump steer. It can be pretty pronounced at higher speeds.
Other than that...what a great car!

the mini isn't "manly" enough for my only car but i'm lucky that we will be getting one for the girlfriend soon so i'll have both the 335 and cooper s in the garage!

^ "Manly" enough? ...good luck with that!

No doubt about the bump steer. The cars have some quirks but overall a really good bang for the buck IMO.
One of my best friends here in Dallas is from London. He is pretty "Jacked" all the time. Proud to be British to say the least but a good man. He has an old Jag vert, British green of course, that he brought with him.
