Saw it outside Gold Coast today (Michigan ave - Chicago)

A few more of the cars there, including the intoxicating LP670-4 SV....mmm...$484,000 price tag on it

i'll take 2!

Guy's got some balls parallel parking the Z8. All cars doing that eventually get dinged in the city

quite a few nice cars parked outside, including 3-4 Bentley's. They can hardly fit the 7-9 cars in that building that they do have in there.

yeah, that is what the alpina edition did, and god do i hate the alpina edition...

Among the list of terrible things they did to an already pretty terrible car, the manual gearbox (6sp) was swapped out to an auto 5speed.

It really is a terrible car, but because of how rare they are (550 made) I figured I would post it. First one I've ever seen in person ..... along with the SV and SLR as well

how can you call it a terrible car?

i have had a considerable amount of seat time in the car [james bond coloring black/red/black] and i love it. my bestfriends dad owns the car and he lets us take it whenever we want to go out at night, and since my friend cant really drive stick, i am the one that drives. it is a superb car and a lot of fun. definitely a head turner

After being a little confused about that comment, I went and read up on the Z8 just to be sure of myself and realized what I knew of the stock Z8 was pretty inaccurate

My sincere apologies

(I still stand by the Alpina edition being terrible though, they made it significantly more expensive while degrading the car)

I think they've had that Alpina for sale for at least 4 years. Gold Coast is a pretty sketchy dealership, especially considering the kind of cars they sell.

i completely agree with you! the alpina edition was the worst thing they ever produced. totally destroyed a fantastic car

Was a Z8 recently sitting at a dealership in SD (BMWSD, to be specific)..was sold, then not sold.

Was priced about $80k.

Though it doesn't really affect my opinion on the Alpina model. The Alpina stood about $5,000 over the base Z8 (the price difference between the two is even larger now on resale upwards of $10,000) and you got an inferior vehicle.

But hey, people have done much crazier feats for individuality!
