The LCI E46 is still better looking than the E90, before and after its LCI.

Yes, this looks like a pretty lame comparison, F30 vs pre LCI lowered E90, . I mean really, why did you waste your time with this and for those who think the E90 looks "dated" it could with comparison. If you want a comparison do it with the out going model, a stock 2011, like for like. And post the spec numbers that go along with it. Do an honest "Apples to Apples" comparison, thats what we need to see IMHO, not this shit,

These pictures really show how the E90 has that "hunkerd down" look to the front, like it's ready to grip the road (not just because it's lowered here) but the front just looks like it's ready to pounce on the road. The F30's front is more in the air, turned up so to speak, it doesn't have that ready for the road look, more like luxo cruizer look, especially from the side pics it's more evident. Just going by looks, I'm sure it will feel different on the road. I still prefer the E90 front end.

I think you are a bit harsh, but I agree with the point you made. I wonder, if it isn't the interest of a car owner website like this one to portray the new model in a maximally positive light. In order to maintain and even increase traffic, it is obviously necessary that a lot of people buy the new model, and those people join this forum. So why not tell them what they want to hear?

I completely agree. It ruins the appearance of the front of the car to me. I much prefer my '11 LCI Msport.

It's too bad because the rest of it looks great to me, but that hood line is always prominent!

First of all I had a distaste for all Bangelized cars. However, I am starting to get the point more and more as I got a E90 about a year ago. I thought I would be last person in the world to turn like this.

Comparing both of those, I know the E90 is lowered with spaced out wheels. However, look how solid it looks compared to F30. Look at the A-Pillars on both cars. E90 just looks smooth and masculine. Sides look muscular without looking f-a-t. The front, I always thought my pre-LCI looked very bland, LCI seems to fix that a bit. The back, no questions asked, F30 is way better. What were they thinking when they did E90 lights (Pre-LCI)! Just saying......

The E90 wasn't Bangelized though. The Chief designer is the same for both E90/E92 and F30, if I'm not mistaken.

Rear end styling - F30 win.
Overall proportions - E90 win.
Front end styling - E90 LCI win (Bumper, headlights, hood, and panel lines)

Not only loving the F30's looks, but getting one after two E90 sport-packaged sedans, a 2006 330 and a 2009 335. This is the beauty of three-year leasing. The E90, especially with the LCI looks great, but time and progress marches on...

Not to take away from the main focus of this thread, as I think the F30 is a very nice looking evolution. However, as someone who owns the E90 and will not be upgrading for some time, I was hoping someone would be kind enough to chime in as to what spoiler is on the rear of the E90? TIA...

went into bmw to test drive the f30.. it felt so weird.. did not like the interior or the gps screen.. it's weird the way it sticks out from the dash.. then looked at the exterior.. well i had walked right by it and it did not standout from the other e90's from the rear.. the body looks kinda bubblish.. the front bumper sticks out too much.. I guess I'll have to wait for the m-sport package to be available.. else i might just be jumping into something else for now.. sucks because i was hoping to get blown away and jump into the f30 sport line.. but it did not do it for me..

Personally when the e90 first came out I was not a fan but the e90 lci was a huge improvement, as for the f30 when I first seen the M sport version I knew right away this will be my next car.

E90 wins from the front.
F30 wins from the rear and from the interior and supposedly much better to drive!
That stupid bonnet line on the F30 is just so unnecessary and ridiculous looking though, I really cannot understand why they didn't bring it down to the grille as usual, would have made it way better looking.
F30 MSport goes a long way to fixing front end, but we always knew this would be the case...

I guess you can call the a F30.

And yes there are modded E90's that look better than that modded F30.

162s

Great photos. The 162's on the E90 were some of the best looking rims ever.
