iDrive continuously freezing
Have an issue where my iDrive seems to be freezing every 10-30 seconds. The radio/music will cut out for a couple of seconds and then come back on again. When the music goes off the idrive controls are unresposive.
I have sat nav (which still seems to work) and bluetooth. Additionally when the music turns off you can hear clicking noises coming through the speakers. These clicking noises continue even when the car is off and the key is out!! Anyone got any ideas. I have reset the idrive and it has no effect. Not sure about the idrive but mine also goes unresponsive at times. For the clicking noise, is it directly from the speakers? I know for my car it sounds like it keeps reading my nav disc. It only stops when I take the nav disc out. Try taking your nav disc out and see if the clicking stops?

Ok this was the Bluetooth unit in the boot under the center hatch causing the idrive to freak out. I disconnected the unit and the idrive has been absolutely fine since. I hope this helps people as I've seen a few people talk about this issue but no fixes.

It's in the center of the boot under all the carpet and stuff. Silver box. Unplug everything from it and it should sort your issue. The units cost about 150 to replace
