cmon, we are talking about some professionals here. The only "inside job" information that they would of had would of been when the cars are arriving. I am pretty sure that wasnt hard to find out and where they are arriving. All they have to look at is previous dates .

They are not that dumb to make this an inside job, the damn cops will be wasting and investigating this first and by the time they are done finding nothing, the cars will probably show up somewhere with a thank you note.

And of course how dumb do you think they would be to drive it around.

There could be 3 possible things that i can see and probably alot more.
1. This is a media scam (which i highly doubt) to get some free press in the media like we've seen with the knight rider car (
) which was lame

2. "Competition" needed to look into the car and mimic certain features so they can get a headstart what bmw is up 2

3. Or which they were professional thieves, cars will stay in this country or not/doesnt matter, hold those cars until the actual ones come out, by then they will have changed vin numbers etc, and will be actual legal street car.

So cmon, enough with the inside job and they will be spotted.

And i must say that I applaud these people , cause how dumb can that security management be that things like this happen. And seriously after driving off with 2 cars and then coming back for another 1 a day or two later whatever it was, lets get serious
Yes!

Wait..... No. Not a chance.

You know that if BMW was planning to show this car @ the NYIAS they loaded it up.
And with this car, there's lots more to add since last year...

If you really & truly saw an F10 535xi, then it was likely some employee of BMWNA, as that model hasn't been released here yet. I really don't know why they'd be driving down to that vicinity, though.

Thats why I think it was a strange coincidence. I was almost positive the cars weren't on the road yet. WHats even wierder is that it was on the side of the highway, no state trooper around it, and cant imagine a new owner having to pull over on the GSP for any reason. Was too amazed seeing the car to even check what the driver looked like, especially since I had just started reading this thread earlier that morning. Anything is possible I guess but im just going to let myself continue thinking it was one of the stolen cars

With all the security holes, it sounds like the thieves are getting a little too much credit here. To me it sounded like showing up, getting in, driving away... twice.

(though granted, you have to either be incredibly stupid or have lots of balls to pull something like this off).

I wouldn't say that. Several ofthe cars didn't seem to be loaded. Maybe they were the hurried replacement cars?

Maybe.

Once you start adding things like Night Vision, Dynamic Handling, Premium Package #2, Rear-Seat Entertainment, etc... the price really starts to move.
If I check off all of the options on the pricing sheets for a 550 I come to about $88K before taxes....and that's assuming BMWNA didn't add any accessories.

definately an inside job! how the f**k do you go into a highly secured place and steal 4 BMWs? and go back for a second round? like securtiy would of been tightened a lot more? howd they know when they were gunna get there and where they were parked? how did they drive it out of the facility without getting caught and they definately didnt drive them through gates so comon someone got seriously paid to help get about 300k worth of cars outta there. lol
