Kalud,

Any updates on turning ALL on for the cars with a REST button?
I can get you copy of my 08 .TRC file

I unfortunately can't test myself, but a while back some tested and were unable to make it work. It probably has to do with the actual software running in the IHK module that is more recent in 2011+ cars and have the added feature (ALL) while keeping the old one (REST).

But if you still want to try out, using the other coding thread as source of information and DIY, read the IHK module and search for a "REST_TASTE_VERBAUT" software switch. If you have it, try setting it to false with "nicht_aktiv".

Some 2010's also lack the "REST" button (like mine)..but this is a cool feature if I ever need it -- prob won't since I live in SoCal.

This has made me so happy, it's the one thing that has kept me from liking this car as much as the last one because I used it all of the time. If they can do it, I guess I'll change the knob to the REST one since I'm kind of OCD like that.

OP, thank you.
Hey man, let me know if the dealer did this for you- if so, tell me which one

doesn't the vehicle need an aux water pump for this?

I guess 335i have electric pum
335d has engine driven pump. an aux pump was present in 2009 but was deleted.

I have a Rest button but when i press it nothing happens. The light doesn't come on. Could this be a fuse issue?

It only works when the car is warmed up and once the ignition is turned off. It cannot be turned on while the car is still running.

It also ties in outside temperature also. outside temps has to be below 60 or so.. Manual said so.

What wood grain do you have looks nice! I have rest in my car and it is pretty useful in the winter when I remember to use it! Lol

Sorry to drag up an old thread, although I'm sure a lot of people still reference this one when they get into coding! I have a E90 320D M Sport 2011 and have recently successfully coded a few things like digital speedo, instant MPG etc. I came across this thread after reading that the REST feature could be enabled if you have the ALL button (which I have). I performed the coding for this and as far as I can tell it has worked in terms of the fans circulate and the ALL button lights up when I press it after turning the car off, and it continues to run after i lock the car. I don't get any symbols up on the climate panel like i do when using the idrive function for timer air ventilation/circulation, is this normal? The car was fully up to temp and it was very cold outside, however the inside of the car didn't really feel that warm after I cam back around 20 minutes later. Do the climate settings need to be on max temp before turning the car off in order for hot air to circulate, or does that not matter? Where abouts in the engine bay is the aux water pump located so I can check that I definitely have one?

Thanks for noting this. After coming across this thread, I was about to go search and see if it was possible with Carly. Thanks.

Parked Car Ventilation = Airflow through the car at the specified time. No temp control, just air flow

REST = Residual Heat [via coolant] is blown into the cabin after the vehicle is off for up to ?? minutes to keep the car warm while you're in a grocery store or something

Coding does make it work, that is not legend. I use REST all of the time and come back to a warm car, usually still blowing by the time I run in to pick up some quick groceries or get gas. I have no "ALL" though.

I read the entire thread and I need to ask because I must have missed something:

If the REST function ONLY WORKS VIA the older style water pump that was discarded on production cars AFTER the REST became ALL then how does any sort of coding make REST work on E90 cars (assuming all the cars without factory REST have the newer water pump) with the ALL button and without the older style pump?!!

I read this, and verified via realoem:
e90 335* (gas models) have electric water pump up through 2012.
LCI e90 335d (diesel) has serpentine belt driven water pump (turned via motor)

So the coding is making the ALL button into a PARKED CAR VENTILATION button and not a genuine REST button?!

Resurrecting!!!

I have a '07 that had the REST feature. I use it all the time in the winter.

But I installed an Eonon stereo head unit. It will run the heated seats, but to get to the on-screen control is clunky. Somebody linked me to the newer controls that have the heated seats buttons on the climate control.

But I would lose the REST. Would I be able to code it to work? Or would I even need to? Would it just work as REST?
