245/45R18 Tires for the 335xi

I've been on the verge of replacing the tires for my daily driver 335xi. I found a set of 18" 7-series BMW rims with 245/45R18 Blizzaks on them for super (and I mean super) cheap and decided to buy them (the rims and tires both look basically brand new). Looking at them they look huge and beefy and like something I would throw on an SUV and not my tiny 3-series.
I know I have read one post so far that said that size isn't a problem for the E90, but I just wanted to have someone confirm that this is true before I haul the car and tires over to the dealership and pay way too much money for them to tell me I'm crazy. Anyone have any experience with this size?

I'm almost certain those tires will be too tall for the E90. You could probably get away with 245/40/18 depending on the offset of the wheels, but the ones you have likely won't fit; especially in the front. Do you not have a jack? Why not try a test fit yourself since you already have the wheels/tires anyway?

That's what I am worried about - they look too tall. I was trying to avoid having to crawl under the car in the middle of winter (yup, saying I'm just too lazy) but maybe that is what I have to do before dropping it off. Crap, they were such a good deal.

What are the width and offset on those 7 series wheels? Even if the tyres would fit ,which i doubt. The wheels might have aggressive specs that don't fit with those tyres.

The tires are already mounted on the rims so I know that will work fine - just a matter of them fitting on the car. The stock size is 225/45R17 with optional equipment being 225/40R18 so they will be 20 mm wider and 5mm taller than the normal tires.

I didn't mean that. I mean if the wheels have aggressive/low offset/width it will push the wheel out too much and because the tyre is so big it won't fit without rubbing.

Look behind the wheels and check the width and offset or if you know what is the name of the wheel? BMW Style...

Yeah they didn't fit. Back was fine, front was too wide.

Oh well, if anyone knows someone looking for 18" rims with 245/45R18 Blizzaks on them let me know!!!

So, wait...what do you mean the front was "too wide?" Is it hitting the strut? Hitting the fender? Would the tires have fit if it weren't for the offset of the rim? Would the wheels have fit if it weren't for the height of the tires? etc. You're leaving out some details here...
