a multitude of reasons i MIGHT tell my friends, but probably not people on the internet. basically, i've sort of been using it as a crutch and a distraction...and there are a lot of things i have to sort out. i can always come back to it later, but i really need to simplify my life. and pay off some debt.

ahhh, I remember something from a post a few months ago. Take your time, you're still young, it's good to have life sorted out. But definitely don't forget your dreams.

"times change, friends leave, and life doesn't stop for anyone..."

this wouldn't be the first dream i'd tossed away. but it's a huge decision, and not one i'm likely to make overnight. chances are pretty good i won't do it. but i'm taking some time off right now anyway.

Whoa, camera insurance is dirt cheap. My homeowner's insurance company covers camera equipment at $1.65 per hundred with no deductible for any loss. That's a whopping $33/yr to completely cover my ~$2k worth of equipment. Need to get started listing items. It'd be nice to be covered before our trip next week.

Individual pieces over $5000 may require a separate policy at a different rate. Just make sure your equipment is listed and shown at replacement value. My policy with Travellers, excludes "professional use", but the definition of professional leaves lots of room to sell a few images here and there. If you feeding the family and making the mortgage payments with photography, then you may want a professional photographer's business policy.

Thanks, Dave. Good to know. I'm a looooong way from having either $5000+ pieces or from selling images to any extent, but I know there are others here who have high end stuff and the quality images that would sell.

hehe... I don't think it changes much, unless of course you are Dutch

Firmware version 2.1.1 incorporates the following fixes and improvements:
  1. Fixes a phenomenon where shooting stops after capturing one image when in continuous shooting or the Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) continuous shooting setting.
  2. Corrects misspellings in the menu screens displayed in Dutch language.

I read it was doing manual exposure in video, but i thought it was already able to be controlled, so i really have no idea, but then again, maybe i was doing that on my 7D and didn't realize which camera i was holding

I don't even remember what the last update did... They fixes are pretty minimal and it just sorts out some bugs... I think the last one may have worked on pinhole distortion if i remember correctly, but i could be completely wrong.
