At this price it makes e90 335i a cheap man's twin turbo BMW. :-)

With a 135 equipped the same as my 335 I would only save about $3000 by going with the 1.

I would hope those numbers are incorrect

those numbers are a joke. my base 335 was under 40k and i would never pay 35+ for such an ugly car.

I'm sure the 135i can out perform the 335i anyday if you bring them both to a track. I'm pretty sure the 135i has some serious track numbers compared to the 335i.

how in the world you would clump 135 with 318ti together in the same category is beyond me. 318ti had an anemic 4 banger while 135 is meant to be a boy-racer with the twin-turboed I6, I fail to see the similarity

I agree with the canadian ^^

Comparing it with a 318 is really not a good comparison at all

I think that what he meant was that the 318ti was the cheapest BMW back then, as the 1 series would be now a days. my opinion is that for $35K for a mini 335 base is a little expensive, for $5000 more you get a 335i. the only way i can see this being productive for BMW is if they don't offer it as a lease just as Audi did with the A3.if they decide to offer lease plans for the 1 series the prices would have to be significantly lower than the 3 series.

That pdf is highly suspicious. Doesn't look anything like a normal BMW NA pricing/option sheet. Also I don't buy them charging extra to get power seats in the 135i (in europe sure but not in the US/Can). I'd say this is made up by someone because the options just don't look right for a NA press release.

Did you guys seriously thinkn this car would be 30k, look at what it has in it. Brembo brakes, i6 tt that is in the 335i, just because it is a one it should be cheap. WHen I think of bmw i do not think of cheap. 35k for a car with all that is not bad at all. Look at how much the new evo and ati are going to be, around the same, and in my opinion you get more of a car with the 135i.

I would have to go 3 probably doing it again - I priced with everything I was interested in and it was $4k more for the 3. That said it does come with m sport package and big brakes, but still can't get past the looks!

With only minimal weight savings over a 335 I doubt the difference will be significant.

seems like alot of 1 series bashing on here....high prices....its a BMW what are you expecting? they make nothing cheap...and alot of people are saying the 135i is the same as the 335i just in a different body....look at the compairsons on the 3 series and 5 series.....3 series kinda migrated to 5....they even say so in videos in the media section on www.bmw.us.com .... so should 5 series people be bashing people with the 3 series just as you are the people with 1 series?...im sure your not willing to pay $10k extra for a 5 series and im not willing to pay $12k-$15k for a 3 series either
