hi - have you had any response from BMW yet. I fear I'm in the same boat: Just taken car to tyre specialist to have the wheels balanced.. 'No sir, your tracking is way out (to canvasse on both rear tyres (inside edge) and a 5mm drop in treat depth on both fronts right at the inside edges. Severe wear caused by incorrect tracking caused by several viscious pot holes me thinks. Any suggestions appreciated - I'm thinking of changing to non runflats and anticipate the wheels might be cracked. The tyre fitter didn't get as far as removing the tyre as he didn't have the correct tyres in stock.

You shouldn't need to remove the tyre to see the cracks. In most cases including mine they have been clearly visible on the inside edge of the wheel rim. I'd get your local tyre guy to whip the wheels off so you can have a look. I need to follow up with BMW about my situation. My wife is heavily pregnant so this has taken a bit of a back seat, but have to get on with it. |

So I'll review the moneyclaim online thing again and probably have a punt on that. Solicitor thinks there is a good chance, as there is with all big companies, that they might not even react to formal action and I get 'judgment' by default |

new member and same complaint.
i have a 335i msport convertible. aug 2007 - 13k miles had 1 puncture last week as the tyre pressure guage came on. took car to garage and found i need two new rear tyres as they had worn on inside edge. them found both rear alloys were cracked. had the same excuses as everyone else on this site. just heard another guy had exactly the same problem as well. i had to fork out £1700 for 2 wheels and 2 bridgestones. i have kept original wheels and will check make of cracked ones and new ones. i will also be phoning the credit card company to stop the payment. will be printing off these and taking them into the dealer tomorrow. am very happy to join the complaint to bmw. this is ridiculous |

Interesting thread, I guess the M225 rims are off my list of potential upgrades.

Another newbie here directed after posting on Pistonheads and yep exactly the same problem on my 57 335i MSport convertible. Both rear rims split and confrontatrion with dealer. They dont seem concerned there are so many of us with the same issue.
"Pothole" theory yet again. |

I would get a list and send to bmw if there is more than twenty you all cant be bad drivers!
It is a real shame as I really wanted these wheels but dont fancy buying them now. So has cost them more money but I guess they are getting that back ten times over with you guys and girls replacing them all the time. |

surely the fact that all the cracked wheels are rears must prove that it is not the roads or the driver but the wheels that are at fault. if it was potholes the fronts would crack as well, has anyone had the wheels x rayed?

In this case, can a class action lawsuit be prepared in the UK, as it would be in the US?
