Need Help: 2011 328i *new to BMW*
I just purchased a 328i 2011, I am noticing that the radio goes in and out a lot. I get static in the city a lot more than my previous car (nissan versa 2012) My beemer is fairly new and I also ran into a strange issue about a week ago. The rear speakers had a buzzing sound going on after I drove my car around the block, it was quite loud, I turned off the stereo and turned off the car, the buzzing continued. I took my car into the service department and they said that my computer needs to be reset but they will only do it when I need service on my car, about 1200 miles until that happens. Have any of you had this type of issue? Any suggestions as to getting this fixed more promptly?
Thank you for reading and assistance. |

Sounds electrical... like a loose harness or cable. Best to just let the dealership figure it out.

I'm more of the type that likes to get to the details instead of blame ghosts. If a dealer/tech knows then why shouldn't I? Is there any ideas what would cause this?

A 2011 should be under warranty so that is complete bullshit that the dealer declined to sort out the issue.
Was your car by any chance a hurricane Sandy flood victim? |

I know the occasional rear buzzing sound is prevalent on our 3-series but don't know about the other issues. I've only had it occur three times since I've owned it and haven't heard it in a while *knock on wood*.
Take it to the stealership OP. You don't wanna mess with the complexity of our car's electrical system!

That's what I was gonna say. Take it into the dealer and demand that they take care of it. I don't know why they would refuse to do so, as any service that they perform under warranty would make them money from BMW.

^that or find a better dealer. It might be a slight drive, but you could check out Tischer in Silver Spring.

Unless this is a salvage title car that has had the warranty voided. Salvage cars get the warranty voided but the service plan is still honored.
