▀▄ eas sweeps 2013 European Car GP with 1st place in Drag & Track Events!

Back in September, for the third year in a row, we competed in the annual European Car Magazine GP. The three day event consisted of a dyno competition, a drag strip competition and a timed lap competition at Streets of Willow Springs Raceway. This time around, instead of bringing our supercharged E92 M3, we decided to bring our lighter and more nimble ESS VT2-525 supercharged Z4M.

This also gives us a chance to put other manufacturers parts to the test. How will it stand up to the competition?

The Eurotuner GP consists of 3 events:

- Dyno Challenge
- Drags
- Track Event

Competing with our Z4M were cars ranging from an 80's Porsche 911, a super powerful Audi TT RS and even a nearly identical spec Z4M. Being a daily driver, we have a personal rule to drive the car to and from the track in keeping the "street car" profile. No trailering to and from the event.

Now that the magazine issue is on newsstands, we can finally share the results! In the dyno competition, we placed 4th in the RWD class with 492whp. We took 1st place in the RWD class drag race (1000ft) with a ET of 10.583, only barely beating Platte Forme's Z4M by .021 seconds. For the main event we also scored 1st place in the RWD class, with our driver Jordan Yost posting a lap time of 1:27.455!

Two 1st place trophies and placing 4th in the dyno shows to be a very well-rounded overall platform! Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with our little daily driven Z4M. Take a look at the complete article below to get all the details of the event and teams.

We also took a bunch of our own photos and videos of the event, so be sure to check those out as well. Enjoy!

Special thanks to those involved that made this possible:

- ESS Tuning
- Recaro
- Macht Schnell
- APR Performance
- Mackin\Volk Wheels
- Arqray
- Stoptech

The Feb 13 issue of European Car is on the newsstands now, be sure to pick up your copy!

So, now you can share all the car parts and set-up with the zpost track crowd. Of course, they will buy them from EAS.

Congrats.

That's one thing we haven't done yet for this Z4M, we'll get a build sheet up in a separate thread shortly.

You don't need a spec sheet. You have an e36m to beat up on.

if the 1000 foot was 10.5 seconds, what would be the equivalent 1/4 mile time and speed? approximately

looking at my old time slips, I've run as low as 10.23@92.16mph in 1000 feet, which equaled to my personal best of 12.17@116mph. making about 400rwhp

Your speed of 107mph at the 1000foot mark is significantly faster.

Funny how the magazine referred to our cars as the "clown shoe"...goes to show how little is known about our Z4 coupe (to the general population) compared to the Z3 coupe

Please post when done. I read the scans, and it looks like your water/meth injection is what gave you the big boost over the other vt2-525 kit. Funny that someone sent the other team the wrong pulley setup, seems like an all too common occurance.

Could you please show your build sheet? I'm mostly interested in your pulley setup, I'm guessing you're at 9.5psi or so with a 50/50 water and meth injection starting spray at 5-6psi and going up to 9
