Transmision cover

Hi there, I drive a Z4 Roadster 2003 3.0i - SMG transmission. Few days ago I had the opportunity to take a look in the bottom área and I found that it does not have transmission cover, went to the dealer and they say that it is so, that does not take cover in that part, anyone could tell me if this is normal, water does not damage the sensors under there?

I have attached a picture from the área.

Thanks for your responses

The only thing a cover would do there is protect the underneath from damage like rocks or high centering the car. No cover in that position could seal out water, theres no sealing surface to mate a cover too.

Hi Randy, I agree on that, but to protect from damage is there a cover or is not?

Thanks!
