This is not really a fair comparison...

It should be a M5 vs. RS6 poll...

except that the m5 only comes in stick.
and that it has recirculating ball steering, and is not as telepathic as the 330, or the rs6, from what i have heard at least. and the reason the 330 is here, is because i have one already, so, it makes it a relevant choice

Price out a gearbox and differential fluid change, brake pad change, tire replacement and routine maintenance for 2yr. It costs a LOT to keep one on the road and that's assuming nothing breaks. if you can pay to play RS6 is awesome

so. now that i want stick, and enjoy driving it, some new options have been opened up . I drove the e39 m5 today. my. god. that car sounds like a jet. it drives SO well too, tons of power, steering is a LITTLE less communicative than my e90 but not bad. What i was really surprised about was the luxury in that car, everything is so detailed and well done, (stitched dash, chrome unlock knobs on the windows) reminded me of a range rover interior or something. What do you guys think...is the m5 going to be up there with the rs6 on maintinence, somewhere between that and the 330, closer to the 330..? It has about 54k, but a new engine at 38k that still has a warranty. What you think?? (OR should i wait, and get a 335 stick. its going to be a little more $$$ though)

Why not? If it was done by a reputable BMW dealer, and the engine is brand new (it has 16000 miles on it now) and comes with a 2 year warranty how is that bad. I see where youre coming from, but my mom had the engine replaced on her 530 after she drive on it overheating after hitting a curb. When she went to sell it it essentially had 100 miles on it. I dont know how that could be bad, i mean i see the risk, but it sounds like a plus to me
