WTB: n54 Engine, Intercooler.

Hey Guys,

I'm new to this forum, but surely will be actively participating once I get my car on the road. I recently acquired a 2007 335i M sport and am in need of a new engine (mine came with a blown engine ).

Anyways, I'm located in the Los Angeles Area and would be willing to pick up a low-mile n54 this week if any of you have one for sale. Please PM me with info if any of you have one you'd like to get rid of!

Also, i'll be needing a budget aftermarket intercooler, perhaps a VRSF or a MECH tuning one, as those appear to be in my price range. I would like one with minimal bent fins, but of course some are inevitable on such part.

Once I get my car in running condition, I am sure I will be actively participating on this forum in search of parts and intel. Can't wait to be a part of this community!

Thank you in advance,

Heikki

How so? The car came pretty cheap, I knew that the engine needed to be replaced, so I factored that into the price.

Just need an engine, no tranny. I'd be interested in a (manual) clutch too, provided it has life left.

I'm interested in trading my old one as a core. I bought the car using my dad's dealer license at an insurance auction, it had undercarriage damage which amounted to a cracked oil pan, busted intercooler, and leaky gas lines.

I'm not entirely sure whats wrong internally with the current engine, but from the metal shavings that came out of the oil pan after removing it, i'm fairly confident I will need a new engine.

So this brings me to my final point, does anyone have/know where I can find a low-mileage N54 in Southern Ca? I've tried many dismantlers, but they all seem to be scam artists selling high mileage engines advertised with a tenth of the miles they appear to have. I just want to be sure that if i'm spending around $4k on an engine that i'm getting what is advertised. Even running a VIN # through car fax can be sketchy if the engine is out of the car already..

Maybe at that price you would be safer gettnig the engine rebuilt?

I'm worried that if the previous owner ran the car with no oil, that the internals are torn to shreds..so I would have to replace just about everything. This may be the route I go, though.

Bump, still looking for an engine. Worried these dismantlers are selling high-mileage units while advertising low miles.
