Price check

The dealer is offering $500 over invoice on a 2012 128i (Montego Blue/Cold/Convenience/Sport/HK/BMW Assist/Moonroof - see this thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=515394)

The summary of costs as I've been told is:

$34,375 + $500: Invoice price (from bmwconfig.com) plus dealer profit
$875: Destination charge
$200: Training fee
$299: Documentation fee
$75: Title fee
$25 or $50: Transfer old license plate ($25) or get a new one ($50)
6.25% Sales tax ($2238?)

So I'm wondering if this seems like a good deal, and also if there's anything else I should look out for.

- The $299 doc fee seems high. Can I likely get this reduced?
- I'm not sure what number the sales tax should be based on.
- The CA mentioned once the car is ordered the price might vary "by a few hundred either way" - is this typical?

Training fee??? For whom????? The CA???????
Doc Fee-pretty standard but may vary from state to state
I have never heard of a title fee???? and no one has ever charged me a transfer fee for the plate.
Otherwise if the price is $500 over dealer cost it's decent

Well, actually, the training fee was included by the configurator at bmwconfig.com :P So...maybe they don't actually charge that. I thought I read somewhere that people notoriously had a difficult time getting out of it.

The $75 title fee is what the MA Registry charges for a title. They also charge the $25 or $50 for plates.

So that doc fee has gotta be almost entirely paying for the CA/dealer's time in filling out paperwork, and maybe a few cents for the actual paper And it sounds like a lot of money for that service.
