I need help deciding which car!!!!
Okayy so for the past year and a half that I have been driving I have had a 2003 Toyota 4runner. I finally have enough money to trade it in and buy the car that I truly want. The only problem is that I can't make up my mind on what I want!!! I've narrowed it down to 3 cars. The BMW 335i, Infiniti g37, and the Nissan 370z. I have not had the chance to drive any of them yet. But out of all the cars the 335 is prob my favorite but it is also the most expensive to maintain and mod. The g37 is slightly cheaper and while I still love the looks of it i feel it wouldn't nearly give me as good of a feeling while driving it as the 335 would (compfort and performance). But the only thing is that with eaither of thoes two I would be looking for one used wth under 30k on it while if I bought a brand new 370z it would be right around my spending limit. Which is why iam really having a hard time deciding on what I want. I feel that once I test drive all of them I will have a better idea on what I want but just thought that mayb some of you guys could help me out as well

gotta drive em man.. and weigh your concerns over those results...
decide on a car and then find a dealer to work the deal. Dont turn off a car because of a BS crappy dealer. ppp

I was in the same boat for a long time. I had narrowed it down to very similar cars. I decided on a E90 335d in the end. Didn't like the analog clock on the G37 console and the headlights on the 370Z are a little weird at first. I guess they grow on you though. The E92 has a little more room for stuff so its a little more practical. These points are obviously personal preferences. My 2nd choice would have been 370Z.

If you have kids (or going to have kids), forget about the 370Z.
Do you want to have another Japanese-built vehicle? Wouldn't you like to drive something different, um, like an European-built vehicle?

Personally all three of those cars are completely different. My friend has a 370Z which is just raw, it was built for a track and it does its job well, but if you want to take more than 1 friend and anything more than a briefcase along, forget about it. The G37 is essentially a more suitable road version of the 370Z with a more comfortable ride and a more luxurious feel. The 335i blends both the performance and the luxury into an awesome car. Start taking some test drives and see what best fits your needs and price range.

335i is the best choice IMHO. I owned a 350Z and a 335i.
The Infiniti is boring. The Z has zero room and poor visibility. The 335i is German made and is a great DD. |

what happened to people being able to make their own decisions based on a test drive or research?

2003 4Runner? That thing can probably drive until 2018 without issue. Assuming it's paid-off, it's the clear choice. If it's not paid-off, then paying it off is the clear choice.

I come on here for advice and suggestions all the time....BUT, when looking for a car and getting ready to spray $30K+, you have to TEST DRIVE them first! And not just once, but 2-3x before you decide. Do a lot of reading about the pros and cons of each. Once you are armed with this type of information (ie, test drive and research) then come on here with more SPECIFIC questions about each car.

The 370Z is a great car... just for a different purpose than the 335i. I had to throw it out of my comparisons because of the lack of a back seat and the insufficient trunk space for the things I lug around sometime. In the 335i, I managed to fit a 40" TV....

Also recommend looking into insurance rates. The Z might be a lot more due to being a 2 seater.
If you drive the G vs. the 3, the choice should be pretty easy. Get a CPO one so you don't have to worry about maintaining.

http://www.caranddriver.com/features...bly_not-column Anyways, that being said, i've driven all three cars you are looking at and I wound up with the 335. If you test each of them you need to drive them on the same roads...they need to be nice and twisty roads...and you need to push the cars pretty hard, then you need to tool around in the cars in urban traffic. This will show you which car is the most fun when thrashed and which car is most well-rounded. Without doing this you won't understand why the 335 is the best choice. |
