returning my car.....due to lease ending..

I am getting 1series..now
and am returning my e90.

just have some questions before returning..
I wonder how much they will charge me after I return my car in... here are some info/condition on my car now.. anyone have thought or experience?

1. I have big scrape under the front bumper...
(assume most of the cars have this...)
2. have some paint chipping on the door handle as well......
3. light 1" line dent(?) on the rear bumper.....
4. impossible to clean brake dust spots on the wheels....do they care????
5. 2 x 1" curbage on 1 wheel.
6. little paint crack on the front bumper...

new brake pads/rotors, new RFT tires condition, clean inside tho.....

Hve you gotten a call from the lease-end inspector? You will first be sent a packet that allows you to estimate how much you'll be charged, and then someone will come to your house and inspect the car. They'll tell you exactly how much you owe.

Any dent or scratch smaller than 2'' won't be charged by the way.

Are you getting the 1er from the same dealer that is taking the E90?

If so, they will probably not be as rigorous. I had three tires blelow spec and they overlooked it.

Why would you not turn it in at the same place you are buying the 1er?

Have you already signed everything for the 1? I'm turning my car in in mid July and I have just had the third party company (Data Scan - BMW sends them out to you) come and inspect my car. The only thing he mentioned about the car was some curb rash (sounds larger in size to yours). I will get the report some time next week.

Anyway I went to test drive a 1 series last weekend and chatted to the agent (same one I got the 3 from) and it sounds like they will overlook more if I buy/lease another BMW, but I would try and make sure I had something on paper from them before signing for the next car.

According to the pack I got sent and my experience from the pre lease inspection:
1. He didn't say anything about mine and my other half parked nose in to a parking spot and went over the kerb.
2. ??? is this a paint defect? any chance to get it done under warranty before turn in?
3. from the pack I got sent - "Acceptable - Dent's scratches that fall within the 2" middle circle of the Evaluator are acceptable"
4. During the inspection mine had brake dust on and nothing was said. Have you tried a specific alloy wheel cleaner? I use some turtle wax wheel cleaner and all the brake dust comes off very easily.
5. Nothing in the guide about rims, He did mention the rash on one of my wheels, but it is pretty big.
6. see comment from 3, not sure if what you describe would be considered a scratch though.

I will try and scan and post the relevant sections from the guide later today.

For my last Audi lease turn in. I got charged 275 for a long, deep scratch where someone keyed my car. (this was pretty obvious to the inspector). Did not get charged for anything else. And it seemed like he actaully let alot of stuff go. He did not charge for noticable curb rash, underneath front bumper overhang was split, there were a couple other smaller scratches. (One I touched up myself w/ factory paint)

You really will not know the damage until he inspects your car. But I detailed the inside, and bought brand new tires. And made sure it was washed obviously. I was surprised I did not get pwned for the other things. I think it may depend on the inspector. good luck!

the dealer didnt give me money back its basically a wear and tear budget for the vehicle while you least it. so for ex: i had wear on my tires that added up to about $400 and a few scratches that added up to like 500( 900 total) allowance was $1500. no money out of pocket.
lol, looks like a word problem.

Slightly off topic, but I'm thinking of terminating my lease a month early (about 6000km over now) and possibly getting a 128i as well (test drove one over the w/e, nice car). I had a few questions:
1. do you know if this lease termination promo is a dealer or BMW thing?
2. what exactly is the promo?
3. since you've taken this promo were you still able to negotiate a deal on the 128i? and if so what did you get?

1. It was offered by BMW canada.. so I guess BMW thing
2. I have 6-7month remaining term.. but they said they will waive it if I lease another BMW vehicle by June 30th.
3. I did.... and my local dealers were having $1000 cash insentive on 1 series already for May only and I did get some fixed monthly payment on top of that....

*My sa (whom I got my e90 from) gave me bad deal...
I went other dealershop, he even gave me better deal for the same exact car... did I have choice? hell ya lol

thank you very much for the info....
I think.. there isn't big things to worry about now except the paint crack on the front bumper....
it's pretty big...... but not noticeably stands out
I hope they dont charge for the curb rash on 1 wheel.....
I mean... how can you not expect curb rash on any cars that is old more than 2 1/2 years..........

Now the thing is....
since I am taking the exclusive offer that BMW CANADA is offering....
there isn't real time for the inspector to come to my house and check the vehicle...

tomorrow is my 128i pick-up date.... (same day I return my e90) only thing I can do is talk to the dealer and wait for the bill to come in??? after I get my billed.. is it possible to take the car back and fix it myself?????? to like some mechanics and body shops I know????

Fortunately I had very low miles on the car - so they credited me for that and it was a wash.

My advise is to go towards the end of the day, they have 10 hour shifts as managers and tend to overlook as they would like to leave for the day, that's what I did and the manager didn't even look at the car, just at the vin # and took my plates off....
