@Footie: Fair enough, but keep in mind that in snow theoretically an AWD car can reach higher speeds than 2wd in the same amount of time/distance which means approaching bends a little earlier and faster than the 2wd car.
I have some experience in the snow with my S3 a few years ago and many times I thought: Wow, superb traction, wow I won't make it to brake for that bend. Almost. It also off course depends on the kind of tyres you use in snowy conditions. I prefer a rwd on wintertyres to a Quattro on summertyres. Been there done that. No discussion needed thank you. Why for example a Lotus Exige driver has to explain to a AWD driver on a trackday why his car can go through a particular bend faster than a Quattro/EVO/STi whatever is another story. |
