Me too!

Vitamin C, excercise, eat a solid breakfast and dinner.

Just because you have a sore throat you went to the doctor? I usually wake up with a sore throat a few times during the winter, it's gone within 2 days.

If you have allergies, it could simply be a combination of your sinus draining down your throat. Happens to me all the time.

Sore (or rough) throat in the morning is usually a sign of coming up with a cold. Gargle some non-diluted Lysterine and make sure the bottom of your throat comes in contact with it. Do not rinse with water. Let the residue sit on your throat for a few minutes before drinking or eating anything. Repeat 3-4 times during the day. It will do magic!

+1. Gargling with undiluted Listerine will definitely make you cry, but will kill ANY germs it comes in contact with.

I got a sore throat too, and have been drinking lots of greentea with honey in it. Makes your throat so much better.

Eating honey by itself will help too.

When you first start to get a sore throat you should gargle with either listerine or warm water and salt. If you do this a few times per day it will usually kill it off before it gets worse, and you won't have to rely on antibiotics.

IN GENERAL, sore throats are viral, not bacterial, so anti-biotics will do nothing.

Consider along with your gargling Listerine/warm salt water to get one of those nasal cavity flushes (Netti pots, I use Nasopure) In the shower, this mixture of salt and warm water in basically a douche bottle. Put it in one nostril, gently squeeze while also gently exhaling the other nostril. Water goes in, around, and out the other side. Cleans things out with the wash AND stimulates some mucous expulsion from farther up in the sinuses. Use the reduced concentration to begin with, as it BURNS.

Then get a bunch of Vit C, on the order of 5 grams.

*Not a Dr. or anything like that, just my routine.

I do nothing and it goes away in a couple of days on its own. Doing it for years and works like a charm. On occasion I will eat those throat lozenges.
