i call BS. im sure the 335 will get DCT, but it will not be the same as the M-DCT. Probably a toned down version just like the SMG offered for the e46 3 series was a toned down version of the SMG offered for the e46 m3.

+1. idk where I read this, but it definitely said that the 335i would get DCT, not M-DCT. I don't know what the specs are going to be, I'd imagine different gear ratios and such.

Wow wtf BMW. First the totally revamped iDrive, now a DCT? Way to blow off people who bought their car one year too early...

Ding ding. Here's your cookie mister know-it-all. First Bimmer, but I don't recall BMW doing many "LCI's" in the past...maybe the E65 7er. This is an LCI, and it's such an improvement that it's sort of a kick to the nuts of buyers who didn't wait a couple of months. BMW has been getting worse with it, like the e90 M3 taillight revision only months after its release.

I agree as well. Highly doubt they are going to put the same tranny in the 335.

Yes they will; the SMG is out and the DCT (which is far superior) is in for BMW. It is old news that the 335i will indeed have the same DCT tranny as the M3. I will get this on my next 335i.

That is a bit of a stretch. It will no doubt be a DCT but not likey be the "same" one as the M3. If you look at the history of SMG in non-M cars, they were far inferior to the M versions. Even this article states: "However expect the version of the M DCT in the 335i to be sufficiently de-M-ed, it will probably be missing various features like DriveLogic options and etc."

It is not old news at all. In fact, new news (released today) tells us that you are wrong and that the 335i is getting a dual clutch tranny different from the M-DCT in the M3.

No, I am not wrong; this was discussed in a couple articles several months ago, and although it may not be EXACTLY the same DCT tranny as the M-DCT, it will still be a dual-clutch DCT tranny nonetheless. My point was that BMW is dropping the crappy SMG tranny for the smoother, faster DCT dual clutch tranny.

Whatever makes you feel better about your E92 M3 (which btw would be blown away by just about any nicely tuned 335i out there now); just wait until the 335i gets the new DCT dual clutch tranny. You'll be feeling even worse about the extra $$$$ you spent on the M3.
Oh, I'm sorry...you're right...you're exclusive, your better than the rest of us oh M3 Driver (well not yet since it's still "on order"); we're not worthy.
