rear bumper PDR question

Has anyone had a dent in the rear bumper that looks like this? I called a local shop and they said that Paintless Dent Repair was off the table since it wasn't "on the side" of the bumper, but to me this looks do-able. If anyone has had something like this, I'd be curious to hear if you got it repaired via PDR or if you had to go a more expensive route. Thanks!

1st off, PDR is primarily for use on metal body panels - not plastic material such as our rear bumpers

Secondly, I've seen damage such as this removed by body shop using localized heating on the damaged area, then pushing the bumper from back side - out to original shape. Sometimes, depending on on damage, there is a crease that you can never get out - but in your case it looks as if they could heat & push out the damage without being able to tell since the bumper really only deformed from oem crease lines and there are no new 'creases' formed.

Awesome, the tech asked if it was plastic and I said yes, but he still asked more about it before he told me it wasn't possible. Either way I'll purse your options next. Thanks a lot

^this. Even if you pop it back in there will always be a crease in where it was. It might not be too noticeable, but it will still be there.

so i finally got around to a body shop and they quoted me $400 to repair and re-paint the bumper, which i think is ridiculous. when i got home from work i was tempted to try and pop it out myself, which i know is risky but it really seems like it could work (knowing there would still be a crease, which could be fine since the dent is hard to find anyway). has anyone tried this before?

i assume it would look stupid to have something like an M-tech rear bumper installed on an otherwise stock-looking body, but that thought has crossed my mind as well...

Get a heat gun and pop that sh!t out yourself!

M-Pack bumpers would be nice, i love the way they look. Heat gun, from inside, warm up the area around, it should pop out easy. (just dont hold it in one spot)

What I was thinking, if a new bumper is already on the table its sure worth a try.
