For the Yanks

A poll for the Yanks.

HERE is what I think you're jealous of. Take a look. Have a play. Our configurator has been spruced up!

Ignore the price (and the build if that's not to your taste), but is this F31 330d Touring M Sport, Sport Automatic the car that you would give up your F30 328i or F30 335i for?

You lot are always going on about how you don't get any "wagons" or diesel cars in the US and often express your jealousy of the EU having plentiful supply.
So with BMW looking to introduce more diesels and Tourings into the US, is this all the car you could ever want in this class/price range? Maybe a better question is; "Is this all the 3 Series you could ever need?"

I would've had an F30 330d if it was launched alongside the 320d, 328i and 335i here, but annoyingly, it wasn't available until later, so I went for the 328i. And I'm VERY happy with it. I would just be the happiest if it was a 30d - I miss that torque of my old E90! Not to say the 28i doesn't shift - it is faster than my E90 LCI 330d!

Considering my current state of need, the poll is giving me thought, I'll return with a selection after a good night's sleep.

Almost nobody in America actually likes wagons or diesels outside a small minority that complains on the internet a lot.

I am jealous of how it looks like you can add a wider variety of options to each of the cars, though. The "lines" seemingly aren't as restrictive as the ones in the US.

Indeed, our Lines are purely cosmetic here and anything can be added individually. You are very restricted in the US.

We whine and cry here in the US about not having all of the different models, but then when the car manufacturers bring them here they don't sell. I'm still shocked BMW is selling the 320i here...

BTW, Love the name of the poll! You call us Yanks, but here Southerners call Northerners Yankees...

While I'm on a cultural/marketing rant, I wish they would sell McVities Flapjacks here!

Those are European cycle MPGs. Not to mention a 316d is probably slower than a Prius.

Absolutely. I don't need a high HP sedan masquerading as a "sports car" for those who don't know what a sports car actually is.

It's simple logic that the wagon has the same footprint on the road but is more useful in every single way. And, I think, better-looking.

But it needs to have three pedals.

These Euros never learn. We in the US don't like soccer and don't want diesels. We're the largest market in the world. If we wanted them, we'd have them. It really is that simple. The numbers speak for themselves.

I cant comment on this 330d since I havent driven it, but I did have a 535d. I loved it but in a different way. It had great torque and was really fast, but didnt rev very high and sound wasn't that great. So when I was dogging it, I always felt like I was missing something. Unless those 2 have been changed with the new diesel engines, I think there will always be a demand for gas engines.

Before you speak for everyone, I hope you know that the US hasn't been the largest auto market for 3yrs.

I love the wagon-and diesel is what needs to move it

My DREAM car would be M350d - chassis of the F31, engine from the M550d

How sick would that be?
