A bit more than a claybar...
I picked up some scratches from flying debris on the M25
98% Laquer damage, so time to sort. A quick wash And squeege And the damage is clear...so Out with the mop, primed with quick detailer And some G3 Apply to area First pass And another The end result 8) If i look hard at the panel, i can see a faint trace of the scratch in the worst area, but i don't have confidence in the quality of BMW paint to hit it again. Its not a job for the feint hearted, but i have done it before, on crap cars tho. I used speed 3.5, at moderate pressure, always keeping the buff moving, and not dwelling on panel ridges. Now for the bonnet |

Man, if you wanted to show us pictures of your house, just turn the camera around.
Looks good...more than good...looks fantastic. Best of luck on the bonnet.

wow! Very nice... I have tonnes of swirl marks and minor scratches from what looks like bushes.. as well as some minor stone chips on the bonnet. I guess that is something expected with a used car. However it looks rubbish when the sun hits it.
I have clayed it already and I have various polishes and waxes, just no machine or PC to it properly... which buffer did you use there? |

Very nice.
Is it an imported PC you've got there, Roofer, or another orbital? I fancy 'detailing' my car properly, but using a PC would simply scare me! Viv |

For me it wouldn't be "simply". I figure an £80 detail by a professional would be much better than if I did it and ended up with an £800 respray.

but its more than £80, most paint repair detailers charge upward of £250 for a full days swirl removal. I am tempted as it is still cheaper and better than if I bought everything and did it.
I guess I will phone around and get some personal quotes, as I have clayed my car so it just needs swirl removal.. even wax I can do myself. |
