SES Light - Driving Cycle

Fixed my car last night (replaced a coil) and the SES light is still on. I tried reseting with my generic OBD reader and it doesn't clear the code (P0306).

Does anybody know how many driving cycles it take for the light to go off? Are there any options other than the dealer?

Thank you.

It's depends on the fault....some will turn off after a few miles others will take up to 250 miles. Some require a scan tool.

I know auto parts stores will usually scan for you but they won't clear it. However ice heard if you tip the guy, he'll let YOU reset the light....it's a liability thing.

SES light just went off by itself - it took about 8 to 10 short driving cycles.
