Talking Nostalgia: BMW's Greatest Print Ads.

BMW has finally gone back to the "Ultimate Driving Experience" slogan which gives us the perfect excuse to dig up some of their best and most controversial ads.

We've posted a few below. Lots more at http://www.endrasbmw.com/05/nostalgi...est-print-ads/

I think that was a Euro only ad. I think we only ever saw a 240hp E36 stateside.

Exactly. It's only accurate in euro-spec. If you check out our blog we've got it explained underneath the ad. http://www.endrasbmw.com/05/nostalgi...est-print-ads/

I know that the Euro spec was more powerful but had always heard that 316 or 319hp figure which doesn't quite get you to 100bhp per liter for the 3.2L. Turns out, the S50B32 is actually rated at 321hp which makes the math work.

The (euro) 3.0 E36 M3 (5MT)had 286 DIN HP. The successor 3.2 E36 M3 (6MT) had 321 DIN HP(which equals 316 (sae?)HP? I'm not sure)

The Macca had 627 DIN HP from a almost 6.1 litre BMW V12...(Paul Rosche developed that engine for Gordon Murray/McLaren)

A few more favorites from the blog (http://www.endrasbmw.com/blog)

The last one is a favourite. Apparently Audi of Hong Kong was unaware that the giant wall above their dealership was available for rent. Unfortunately for them, the quick thinking chaps at BMW seized the opportunity to proudly promote BMW’s new F10 5 Series class leading efficiency. Needless to say a few stress balls were squeezed at Audi of Hong Kong that day.

i like these "heart and soul" advertisements. Going back to our racing and driving heritage is what made BMW "THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE".
