Reduced Power Light and No Codes
Ive got an 07 335i coupe and its a blast but lately when i really get on the gas 4k if its cold and 5k if its warmed up the reduced power light comes on but no engine codes. I did some live scans but nothing looked out of the ordinary. Ive cleaned the vanos solenoids and done the spark plugs to no avail. Any ideas? The bmw dealer near me is a rip off. Im going to get it dynoed soon to see if anything comes up then. The car drives fine before during and after so im really at a loss.

I havent got a jb4. My other idea is that it might be running a tad bit lean and then when i really get on the gas it gets too lean because when i took the plugs out they had a bit of white on them which im led to believe is normal for a naturally aspirated car but for a turbo charged car it means lean because they tend to run more rich.

My charge pipe broke and popped off and when I would get above 3500 it would throw the dash light. The code was only thrown the first time I believe.

Yup, im driving on a CP hanging on by a thread almost right now(waiting for BMS to get their new ones in). I can't go above certain RPM's in certain gears or it can tell there's a "leak" and I get "Engine Malfunction, Reduced Power" checking the code on the instrument cluster is ccid-29? but it's just a generic error, I know it's cause my charge pipe is busted and is leaking under certain boost levels. I can get it to error usually at any time as long as I get on it good.

Are you scanning with a BMW compatible scanner.
Are you scanning with a BMW compatible scanner.
(one that shows all the BMW shadow codes etc.etc..) I can't believe you wouldn't get some kind of codes with a half engine light. |

Im sure its missing something because that doesnt make sense that it wouldnt blow a code out. It seemed a little better today. The car has 100k so theres a bunch of things that could be wrong. All good input you guys.

Just did an oil change. Stupid used car dealership used ultra black silicon and Teflon tape on my oil drain plug causing it to leak. What happened to genuine people?!

Update! Just fixed the problem tonight. It was a cracked vacuum line leading to the canisters for the turbos. No half cel. Ridiculous amounts of power and a happy owner. All the lines were fragile and cracking go to your nearest automotive store and buy some 5/32s vacuum line and replace it asap. From what ive heard its a pretty big problem with an easy solution
