Best tires for places that are year round above freezing ( 32 F/ 0 C)?

Any ideas for the best tires (best braking and grip)that can be reliably used in places like AZ where it never snows but still gets pretty cold (as low as 32 F) on a few cold mornings? My Pirelli P7 AS tires just suck ... they kinda keep skidding on the highways when I brake hard (yeah I drive that way!) or when I accelerate too hard at low speeds.

Don't get all-season tires. Opt for summer ultra high performance-great in the wet and dry, just no good on the snow-which isn't a problem for you.

anyone had experience with all season max performance tires? Summer tire compounds apparently become hard as glass at temps below 40F

I'd go with the bridgestone potenza re970 ultra high performance all season tires. Those tires will hold on to the road and corner well at high speeds. I have them and I usually drive 140+ mph on the German autobahn, with a lot of sudden speed changes.
