Question Canadian Road Hazard Warranty

Hey guys.

Just picked up 2011 135i and I'm in the process of negotiating the Road Hazard warranty (for rims/tires).

I've skimmed the previous topics posted about this and I'm getting mixed messages in terms of what exactly is covered. My dealer said that they'll replace the wheel no questions asked if I have any issues (apart from burnouts etc). However, many people here seem to have had issues with the 'fine print'- especially getting the wheel replaced due to a pot hole.

And lastly- how much should I be paying? They quoted me:

Road Hazard:
3 year coverage - $1,150
4 year coverage - $1,375

Stoneguard:
If purchased alone - $499
If purchased with Road Hazard - $399

Any experiences you guys can share will definitely help.

Congratulations on the new 135!,

I paid $899 for 5yrs of coverage of tire/rim, that was 2 years ago though. I've had no experiance of getting wheels repaired or replaced but have had both rear tires replaced. First one was no hassle, the second was a bit more trouble based on the amount of wear (even though it was within 2 weeks of the first one). The warrenty was purchased from BMW Missisauga when i started the lease, hopefully thats some help.

Hey thanks for the reply.

Maybe the price differential is due to the 18' 'black performance wheels' (261M) included with the car.

I'll make sure you to ask for clarification though. Thanks for the info.

Not sure if it will be worth it. In 2 years that I've owned my car, I've gotten 3 flats. 2 were from potholes and one from a nail. Mind you if I were to pay full price for the tires it probably would've been worth it, however, I just picked up almost new tires from members here for about $100 a pop.

Now, considering you also said that some have claimed to have had problems with potholes, it's not looking too snazzy, this tire warranty.

Garage List
Be thankful when you can ditch the run-flats for normal tires, and the warranty is just a tax on the stupid.

Well I've decided against it.

I figure if anything happens with my wheels, I'll likely switch them with aftermarket ones anyway.
And as far as the clear bra goes, I've contacted one of the guys that did some of the 1addict member cars.

I got 3 years for 1200 $ ... replaced a cracked rim that was finished after 2 weeks ! Bmw Laval replaced it and lent me a car for a day all for 0$ . That rim was worth 795$ + taxes ... so for me this warranty is worth it especially in Bagdad Quebec !
