That's helpful. All caps can be used for stress in certain parts of the text for effect. Discussions with the dealership prior to this event had been perfectly cordial because at that point, there was no reason to be frustrated. They kept telling me "oh it's coming, and you'll know." "Oh yeah, it's not scheduled yet", "just keep your eyes open - we're doing a big event."

I did keep my eyes open, and I continued to ask (every few weeks), and I was told nothing.

Yet another example of how customer service is being lost. Focus on the frustration of the customer, rather than the reason for the frustration. If the dealers don't feel the pain of poor service at the bottom line, they will continue to make half-ass efforts at window dressing for service.

You can attack me all you want with nit-picking internet posts, but it doesn't change any of what happened. I'm sure you'll find some grammar mistakes, spelling errors and there might even be a dangling participle. Have fun!

Good grief OP, if how you talk in person is the same as you type, shouting random words in your sentences with your all-caps turned on, I'm not surprised you were "inadvertently" left off the invite list.

As long as you are a registered on the BMW USA site you should get the invites.

I feel bad that YOU (lol) feel so bad! I guess I don't understand what the big loss is here, but then again my idea of an entertaining evening isn't spending it at a car dealership drinking cheap swill wine standing around a car in the showroom while being targeted by the small-talking sales team trying to get a wedge into a possible sale. I would pay to NOT (lol) be invited to this scenario! Personally I think you dodged a bullet here lol.

But let's not blow this out of proportion. Yeah, it's frustrating, and it makes it hard to want to return to the dealership (considering the first failure to buy a car from them), but I'm not losing any sleep over it. I was frustrated and shared. Do with it what you want. Obviously, some people can understand the frustration. Others don't. I'll move on.

Lol

What they *told* me would happen is different than what you laid out. They said there would be cars ready for test drives and to bring friends. So I was ready for the opportunity.

And yes, I am animated speaker - it's why I am good in front of group. Monotone doesn't keep peoples attention.

I went to a grand opening at a Porsche dealership recently and I know it was a different type of event but there was no sales pressure whatsoever. Basically they gave you as much wine and hors d'oeuvres as you wanted and you just walked around looknig at sick cars
