As are the vast majority of sport sedan/car owners. It's only on the forums that posturing about lap times, 0-60 times and all that other bullshit occurs. Most people can barely stay in their lane on the freeway, let alone turn some ridiculous lap time.

Agreed... to me the only 2 numbers that have any meaning is the car's weight which whether its 3300 or 3450 or anywhere in that range makes almost no difference and the car's trap speed which tells me a ton about the power the car is making. Those should be the key indicators for 99% of people here... everything else is BS.

Agreed. I think this is a better indicator than 0-60, 0-60 times have become more and more of a marketing thing

To me 60-0 is the probably the most important reference since it will be used by everyone that drives the car and is one of the most important factors for safety.

To all those that have never attended a HPDE in their own car:
I highly recommend it.
Try one of the BMW or Audi track day events to learn what your car can really do but most important is learn how to control your car at it's limit in a safe environment. It might just save you from getting into an accident one day.
Watch out though since they are highly addicting.

That's definitely true on all fronts. Not only is it a great learning experience, if you're a decent enough driver (and if you have something with an M on it or even a 35 in the name) you will probably be amazed at some of the cars you can overtake at the track.

IMHO, open lapping days at my local track are about the most fun to be had with a car.

There should be lap times posted while people are:
1) Texting
2) Applying make-up
3) Shaving
4) Posting on social media
5) Eating
6) Drinking

Now those would be some real world lap times.

LOL! They must also be leaned back in their driver's seat in a less-than-optimal driving position.

Yes, agreed 100%... do it even if only once... but you're screwed after that. The disease can't be cured, symptoms can only be treated.

It's worse... with that; apparently you can stop the outbreaks for extended periods of time. With this, you can't.

LOL, you really just handed me my ass. All but shaving happens in my car, that's the main reason to get a manual, I would love to just drive again with only driving to deal with. I can't believe the shit an automatic car makes possible, and that's really, really really bad.

Yes, I'm not to blame, since looking like shit is such an outdated hobby, so I now actually use a mirror once in a while.

But it's not a good benchmark since there are so many different factors when comparing multiple 0-60 times

I just completed my first Autocross in the new car, and plan on 10-12 a year between the local SCCA and BMWCCA.
