Wheels stolen off M6 at dealer
UPDATE: I was at the dealership today and I found out the thieves came back the next night and tried stealing the 20"s off the X5. Cops rolled by and they ran. They had some of the wheels off (3 of them?) and the car lights taped up again, and took them into the nearby woods. Cops used infrared and dogs and caught some of the thieves. The dealership still hasn't gotten the M6 wheels back but apparently the guys caught (lookout was caught for sure) have done this several times in the past.
I was at my BMW dealership today when I spotted this M6 on blocks with its wheels stolen. This just has me really pissed off. Urg. My '95 525i just got declared total because some asshat hit my driver's side door pulling out of a gas station; and that $3800 damage got a car I love totaled. And here, some douche just stole $3000-$5000 in tires+wheels. And the clown nose was blinking inside! The car's VIN: WBSEK93568CY80006. Look for a discount soon? ARGH! Duct tape on the paint! I hope they catch the guys who did it, cut off their fingers, deep fry the fingers and make them eat them. Duct tape on the paint... what has the world come too... Oh! the wheels are gone too!

I kind of wonder if that M6 is now gonna have a salvage title. If the wheels are stolen off the car and the car is left on blocks, does that mean it's stolen for title purposes?

I wouldn't want to buy it after that. It can't be good for a car to sit on two pieces of wood for any period of time. |

Well I guess this won't be part of the drive off the lot sale!
On a serious note, this car could potentially be had at a very deep discount. I doubt it has much if any damage from sitting on the wood. |

I think the alarm only goes off if it senses movement inside...not sure though. It can't be too useful it BMW opted not to include it in the 335i...that or BMW is being cheap...

This is terrible. Surprised that this happened as it appears that the M6 was parked within line of sight to a very busy Route 9. What surprises me is the idiots that took the wheels do not know the Freehold police department motto of shoot first, ask questions......
Now all the upscale BMWs at Freehold will be parked behind the chain linked fences. I am pissed! |

Interesting that the Freehold LEO thought that this was previously reported. Did he mention if this is an isolated incident or is becoming a more frequent problem on Route 9. I believe that the Benz dealership had a problem not so long ago. Unfortunate as I often worry about my car when it is in for service at Freehold BMW. I do not have an M6 but to me my little ol 328xi is pretty special.
Interesting that at one time Freehold use to put wheel locks on all its premium cars. The had it as a dealer add on suplement to the window sticker. They had not done that for a long time and I suspect they will going forward. |

Wow can't believe there are lowlife's that would sink that low. I would hope/assume that they have some sort of surveillance system outside the dealership?
And Sagar, what's up with people not paying attention and totaling your cars? Want to borrow my car and get me out of my lease early?
