iDrive Nav and Aftermarket Head Unit?

Is it possible to have the iDrive with Navigation and have a aftermarket radio head unit for music? I am wonder if they will interfere with each other or not. I had an Avin Avant 2 for my E46 and it worked great, but don't know about if that is possible to place in my E82 or any head unit by that matter.

I believe you can - you can get an aftermarket radio/amp integration harness but why would you want such a thing? I doubt changing the head unit would do much in terms of sound quality
