Best Scenic & twisty roads in Canada
Hello everyone!
Can you recommend any great road in Canada where I can test the handling and enjoy changing gears on my 6MT 1 series? I have heard great things about going to Cape Breton! Also, if you know any short trips around Toronto/Ontario would be great! Thanks |

Vancouver to Whistler is scenic, but most of the corners have been smoothed out since the upgrades to Highway 99 for the Olympics. |

For scenic... I would have to vote ice fields parkway from Banff to Jasper in Alberta. Not really good for spirited driving because you'd drive yourself off a mountain =)

The Icefields Parkway is a great drive and then try the Rogers' Pass east of Revelstoke and highway 95 from Golden to Canal Flats--nicely twisty but still good speed maintained and mentioned by Ski Canada as one of the 10 best approaches to a ski area in Canada!

Yeah I'll say the same, past Whistler can be pretty intense but fun, one lane bridges, twisty blind turns, 400ft shear drops to a river without a guard rail. Scared the $#:Â¥! Out of me the first time I came down it, but that was in an Acura! Definetly a memorable drive for sure |

Orillia, Sebright, Norland, Kinmount, Tory Hill, Paudash, Bancroft, Denbigh, Dacre, Renfrew, Ottawa. REAL easy to take a wrong turn so have someone on map or layout a GPS.

The Duffey Lake Road North of Whistler is an awesome piece of black top all the way to Lillooet. Tunkwa Lake Road is another great one, just outside of Cash Creek it goes to Logan Lake, a little scary because of all the tall grass you can't see around the corners real well.

I would say your best shot is in BC, highway 3 from Hope to Princeton, Hwy 1 from Hope onwards, Vancouver to Whistler...I have driven on those with my little 1 and all roads are great to drive on. Views are just magnificent.

This summer on a trip out west I drove roundtrip from Vancouver to Kelowna. Forgot which highway it was but it was infinitely better than any driving road I've ever seen here in Ontario. The scenery, the long sweepers, the elevation changes... even in a base model Lancer rental it was fun. Had I had my 135i, it would have been perfect! At one point during the drive, I followed a new Z4 with Ontario plates for a while, and felt a moment of regret for not having brought my car out west with me as well. You guys out in BC are a lucky bunch.

this is why i drive everywhere, no missed opportunities. Also part of the reason I'm in BC right now, was just so i could go for a drive.... and then see some friends.

Seeing as you're in Toronto check out Southwood Rd. JUST north of Severn Bridge off Hwy 11 (169). The traffic isn't so bad either. This time of year there would be less bikes and cottagers as well.
At one end there's a sign showing twisty rd for 26 km. By far the best road I've been on, much better than the Forks of The Credit. Getting there is abit of a trek though. http://maps.google.ca/maps?pq=southw...ed=0CBsQ8gEwAA |
