Given the similarities (including exact same sizes, offsets, and even same marketing pics) my guess is Avant Garde has licensed some of their wheel designs to be produced under that brand name in Romania but I don't know that for sure.

I think Avant Garde are manufactured in Taiwan... in terms of quality they're probably better than the made in China knock offs you will see on the wall of your average wheel shop, but definitely not made in Japan BBS quality or anything. Just my $0.02.

If you are going to pay that much (based on your other thread looks like you are prepared to spend >CAD$2500) and want to stick with cast wheels then my personal vote would be for something else. Myself I would probably go for OEM... 18" something like style 193M or 197 which would be made in Europe by one of the major wheel OEs (BBS, Ronal, Enkei, etc) and would have a better chance of standing up to Montreal pothole season. Could have a brand new set for way less than $2,500.

Or you could look for a gently used set of forged wheels... not sure you will find new for $2,500 but probably a used set in decent shape.

a forged wheel is stronger than a cast wheel. And also usually lighter!

I'm not sure about bbs making your wheels, someone else on here may know more on that. As far as forged wheels go, yes you can pick up a used set for 2-3 used and in good shape. Also wheel manufactures use different methods for cast wheels.... Gravity casting( cheapest way ) high pressure casting, low pressure casting. The way a wheel is formed by casting will also play a role in its strength.

Look at OZ Racing. They make wheels for Formula One, and some of that technology comes down to the street wheels they sell....
