BMW PE Install Cost

Recently purchased the BMW PE for my E92 N55. I've called the local dealers here in Houston and the cheapest quote I got for install was $221.98, 1.5 hours of labor.

I posted a thread in the Southwest forum but did not get much feedback. Anyone know any trustworthy BMW Indy shops in Houston?

I went to a local exhaust shop for my weld in exhaust and only got charged $100 to cut off OEM and weld in new.

I bought it from Tischer and it came out to about $1,260 with shipping and taxes. I shopped around and found Tischer to be the best price. I also looked at Eisenmann (very expensive), Vanguard, AE and Remus. PE just sounded like what I needed. Just need to find a place to install..

1.5 hours of labor sounds right, though a dealership is going to have one of the higher labor rates. Try a local Indy shop, they tend to be south of dealerships by quite a bit ($80-90/hr for a reputable shop). Look around your Southwest regional forum and find some shops:

You're in for a real treat after you get this puppy installed ...

It's just the mufflers to install right? No midpipe since you're E92. Cut the OEM mufflers off and clamp the new ones.

Sounds about right, if I could find one ha.

I did post in the Southwest forum as shown here:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=803874

I didn't get much feedback in terms of Indy Shops or any references besides the one post, which still seems a bit shady to me.

Did you try www.bimrs.org for an Indy in your area? Click on US under locations and then Texas. Looks like 3 in Houston area. Good Luck

As an aside, mine was $125-ish installed by dealer...basically an hours labor, but it did take them about 1.5 hours to complete.
