They sure make it seem like it would.

Yet, here we are waiting for data that was suppose to come a LONG time ago.

I talked to Imran long enough to hear that they're still working on the latest round of changes to their mapping file. In hindsight, I wish I had hit up Evolve sooner than I did. Who'd have thought that they'd be busy while BMW releases their next gen cars...?

Yeah, not holding my breath on that one. And even if that were true, why pay $400 more for 2 - 6hp?

I hit them up multiple months prior to this thread and all they did was turn a shoulder and say "The market isn't there...sorry"

I even offered to dyno on my time and money. But whatever....I'm done complaining.

In the end, regardless of what dyno results are they are meaningless until compared against other tunes on the same dyno and same conditions.

Can't agree more with the last statement.

Even if Evolve's tune comes to fruition, and let's say hypothetically it shows more gains than AA, the difference will probably be marginal at best. I'd go with AA.

It's a naturally aspirated car, gains are going to be minimal in all power aspects. If you want to mod and tune for big power go v8, turbo, or both

The only reason why I'll tune (and will be doing so) is when I get headers, go to 93 octane (N51 is tuned for 89 Octane because Cali) and custom exhaust.

Otherwise, it is, IMO...pretty much pointless.

A small, but VERY nice difference, at least when combined with the BMW Performance exhaust and intake. It sounds like heaven with the windows down.

Despite what Turner Motorsport and AA said, the tune DID change the exhaust note slightly, and for the better.

I have something to look forward then when I get the exhaust!

Mine is also 89 minimum according to the car manual that came with the car. 89 minimum, 91 recommended.

Well, I can't speak for the AA tune, but my revised OE tune for the stock N52 (standard manifold) pulled HARD, and felt like it made power everywhere over the stock tune. I'm a manual, so throttle response was not changed much, but power delivery was- much smoother, and you could feel it from the moment you stepped on the pedal. We aren't talking throttle sensitivity here either.

But with the 3stage manifold and tune - WOW. BIG difference. Hopefully I'll have a dyno in a week or two to show Pre-tune versus post tune numbers. It doesn't hurt that OE offers the tune for very competitive prices.

For the record, my n52 says 91+ only and i normally use 93. However, during the gas crisis after hurricane sandy last year there was only 87 available and i ran that through it. No problems at all but i took it easy since I needed the MPG.

US customers who want the 3stage manifold, they don't list that as an option.
