How to code 3AC folding trailer hitch

I need to retrofit a trailer hitch to my 2013 F11.
I do have E-Sys, but what do I need to code and how?
I have just got all the hardware for the trailer hitch, I will install it as soon I find out of the coding part I thing the 3AC is VO.

Looks like this has been verified here:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=653710

Summary:

1) Add option 3AC (trailer hitch) VO to your FA

2) Code the AHM: Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on AHM ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD matching your I-Level => Select OK => Right-Click on AHM (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

I'm also looking at fitting the folding hitch to my 2014 F11 myself - are you able to share a scan of the supplied fitting instructions - and any tips once you've completed!

Thanks,

James

Thanks! I work for a Swedish company and Google translate is also OK so that shouldn't be a problem.

Istallation went fine. Did it today. Coding also, everything works perfectly. But I didn't get the trailer hitch view function on my rear view camera. Do anyone know where to code for enable it?

My wife has that on her X3 and there's no specific VO shown for that - but she does have 3AH (Reversing camera and top view) instead of 3AG (backup camera). I think 3AH also requires additional cameras for the top view, but maybe that VO also activates the trailer hitch view feature.

Do you have any instructions/tips for the bumper removal and how did your route the cabling all the way to the front A pillars?

It must be some kind of coding, because I have seen other F11s with just 3AG have the trailer hitch zoom in function.

Rear bumber removal is very simple. First you have to remove both tail lamps, there is a screw under them. There is 3 screws in each fender lining. And some screws and plastics pops under the car. Under the tail lamps the bumper cover is fasten with some sort of clips, you will understand when you see it.

The cable routing where much more simple that I tought before I start.
Just follow the routing in the instructions, and use logical sense.

Actually I think you may simply need to code some additional modules to make the 3AG camera option aware of the new trailer hitch - see the following thread:

Just looked at the instructions in more detail - a couple of questions:

1. Did you need to drill the 40mm hole at the top of page 8 and if so was that straightforward? Is the location already marked on the bodywork?

2. Did you need to buy the extra fuses not included with the kit (item K, 2 x 20A Mini) or were they already installed in the fusebox?

Thanks!

1. Yes I drilled the hole, no it is not marked. Be aware there is some cables on the inside, so you do not cut them off.

2. In my car all the fuses was already there. But that you have to check out in your car.

Install went fine although I had to modify the cable slightly for a RHD car!

I have the trailer hitch camera view working but the trailer hitch itself doesn't work - I've added option 3AC to the VO but which ECU do I code - I don't have AHM?!

So close!

Thanks

Figured it out - needed to code AAG instead of AHM!

Finally, did you get an "SOS call system failure" check control message after restoring power to the car"? Not sure how to resolve that...

Thanks

Cleared all DTCs using eSys and that's resolved it - all done!
