Getting an F30 320d Msport in EBII...

It's through a lease scheme through work so not a local dealer, otherwise would have been either Bowker Preston or Lloyd Blackpool (seemed friendlier). Car is coming from Cooper Sunderland. Was told on Friday it's on Build week 10, so keeping fingers crossed I will take delivery end of March at the latest...

As I write software and used to design hardware I didn't find it too difficult to learn how to do it all. It was the ability to turn off the auto stop-start that was the spur to doing it though.
Well after deciding I 'need' Video in Motion and the digital speedo I ordered the cable last night and I'm downloading the software to give it a go. Looks straight forward enough, just hope I don't screw up! I'll probably enable the other bits too.

The video in motion is for when stationary in traffic. At the moment you have to put it in park which means the stop/start won't kick back in so takes a while to get going again. I won't be watching anything whilst moving. It would be great to have the system just cut out at say 3mph like Mercedes did.

Where did you order the cable from Richard?

Also where are you getting the SW from?

What other bits are there? VIM seems the obvious choice, as does Folding mirrors on Fob - not sure what else there is that's actually 'practical'

My local Indy charges about 40 quid for this, and he uses the AutoLogic computer to enable whatever you want, takes literally minutes.

If you have folding mirrors then they already fold on the fob - press and hold the centre lock button on the fob and after 2-3 seconds the mirrors fold up.

Nothing amazing I know, but I like the idea you can do it. There are a few things I want, VIM, ASS remember last setting, digital speedo, add rear lights to DRL, Set High Beam Assistant default to Automatic on.

There are some other things I may play with, change ringtone, Tire pressure + temperature in TPMS, I believe you can also turn the DRL brightness to full when you put the side lights on (currently they dim),

If you have the camera's you can also have them work when moving and there are some options for HUD which I don't have.

From eBay, the seller seems very helpful too

The software from the thread in the DIY section, basically you have to PM Shaun who started the thread.

im sure the uk cars don't have tpms in the wheels so its not something that can be activated.
run flat here is im sure activated by the units that are connected to the suspension arm,its measuring the difference in levels

No full TPMS is not standard in UK. It actually detects a flat by measuring the circumference of the tyres via the ABS wheel speed sensors.

I have all the stuff now, but I probably won't try it until I have a full day to play, so that will be in a couple of weeks.

Not something I want to try late one evening.

Well it was all very simple. I now have video in motion! That was my initial test for tonight.

I installed all the software on my laptop at work today, then when I got home at 8pm I thought I'd give it a go just following the guides step by step and had no problems at all. I first removed the handbrake/park requirement but still the picture cut out at 3kph so I went back and removed that too as it just was a different setting. Very uneventful really!

Now to really start playing to see what I can do with my new powers The function/module names on mine were slightly different to the cheat sheets in the DIY section as I've got the new NBT Nav but they were pretty obviously named.

Well I now have a digital speedo, and I can close (as well as open) the tailgate with one touch of the keyfob (F31 specific obviously). Much better now than having to hold the button down.

I'm being careful trying one thing at a time so I'll eventually build up a list of mods. The above two I just popped out at lunchtime to do. The digital speedo was high on my list as I find them handy when going through speed cameras.
