Outside of that, I think your biggest headache might be getting the SWS and your trunk sub to play nice with each other. Phasing issues might cause one set to cancel the output of the other. You'll also be fighting the fact that the trunk naturally cancels out some of the trunk sub as well. I think when checking output, you'll need to selectively turn off the SWS and make sure the trunk sub is tuned well before turning them back on to see if the SWS aren't cancelling the trunk subs. And once you do that, vice versa.
Will do that, sounds so logical

Completely agree

Thanks a lot, yes actually thats why i love this forum and appreciate all inputs from the members.

I am still confused selecting the proper subwoofer Ohm value.

As per the specs of the XD600/1v2, the maximum power of 600w is achieved at 2 Ohm load.

I need to understand the dual coil technology, i know that they are technically two separate coils for better performance and for providing different loading options. What i am confused about is the term "Dual coil 2 Ohm", does this mean there are two 2-Ohms coils, or two coils sums 2 Ohms in parallel?

In my case do i need 4-Ohm or 2-Ohm sub?

Dual 4 ohm is what you want. Connect in parallel for 2 ohm mono load.

Focal claims that the IFBMW-S kit has a frequency response down to 85Hz. Now I think/know that is very wishful thinking but I have my IFBMW-S crossover set to 110Hz HP and the SWS-8 to 120Hz LP and the midbass seems to be good. I don't know how Focal decided on 85Hz though, I would guess that its the 3dB roll off point of the response.

I wish there were ways to hear speakers like these more often. Stuff like this, I've rarely (if ever) see or hear as a demo. I know I was pretty stunned with my own speaker setup.

I will say this, I can never say that a given speaker X can't hit this high or low again. My own install was a lesson learned there. I didn't think a bunch of 6.5's could shake my car, but surprisingly, when pushed, it'll do it.

Any one used a product of or contacted wickedcas.com?

I am trying to reach them for 4 days with no response!

Any other suggestions for a corner enclosure supplier?

Try:
http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp

I haven't ordered anything from there yet, but I've been referred there a few times...
I'm guessing they're selling wickedcas' enclosures on their site...

I went on the WickedCas website and looked at the JL Audio woofers they are offering in combination with the e90 enclosure. I must say, the pricing (for the subs) is very attractive, but be warned that none of the listed woofers is well matched with the 0.85 cu ft enclosure volume. The 10W1, 10W3 and 10W6 require smaller than 0.85 cf and all the others require over 1.1 cf.

So with the three 10" woofers as mentioned above, you should probably have to think about reducing the enclosure volume in order to get the subs the ideal amount of air space. Like I said though, the 10W6 did not work for me, so In would not recommend it in this application (and of course also not the W3 or W1 versions).

The 12" and 13" options they have will NOT work well with the given air space, and there is nothing you can do to fix that. The only fix is to find another sub that is better matched with the 0.85 cf.

Thank you for raising the point.

I was planning to buy only the enclosure from them with 12" opening, and order IDQ12V3.D4 elsewhere. As per the specs the IDQ12 it requires 1.0 cf. Is this a close match?

Not knowing the box, and not having experience with that sub, what I say next might not hold water;

The volume is definitely off, however, you could probably put polyfill into it to pseudo expand the volume. (it just slows the soundwaves in the box some so it acts as if the volume is bigger)

The IDQ works great in that enclosure. Polyfill is a good tip.

Hi guys,

In order to squeeze the subwoofer system cost, i had to look into having the Alpine type R SWR-12D4 instead of the IDQ12. Thanks to kaigoss69.

The IDQ12 is actually double the price of the alpine!

I also found it better fit for the 0.85 cu ft enclose. As per the specs it is best operated in 0.75 to 1.0 cu ft sealed enclosure.

Any comments?
