You forgot the third option: chrome grille frame with black vertical slates. In fact, for many dark cars this is the best option.

for some reason, I really dig pics of the matte black grille on silver cars and even black cars, but I think for white, gloss black looks best.

huh...I hadn't thought about that either, I'm going gloss black, but with the chrome window trim I was thinking that might look a bit funny...but hey, I will have to try this out!

So I lost one of the 4 Torx screws, it fell down the hood latch opening. I am going to try to fish it out with a magnet, but does anybody know where that passage leads to? And also, is it dangerous to leave the screw in there?

In the black hole! You'll never be able to pull it back out! Muhahaha!

J/K

But if you can't fish it out, it won't harm anything. You'll be fine. You might not believe this but one time I found a flashlight between my bumper and wheel liner when I was installing AE's bulbs in my car LOL.. Don't even ask me how it got there in the first place because I have NO IDEA or can't remember haha..

I actually have 4 pairs of grilles in my garage as I can't make up my mind on which ones I want. I have the OEM chromes (i never use it anymore), gloss black, matte black and carbon fiber.

Just went from matte black to gloss black to carbon fiber and now back to matte black again.

Matte black on a black car gives it a bit of contrast which is always nice to have. Some people think it looks "unfinished" because of the matte finish, but when I feel like the gloss black grilles on a black car makes it look like something is missing.

On my e92, the torx screws are what aligns my bumper, grilles and the hood in harmony. Without one of them, a gap will appear or a part of the bumper will stick out. I would go to the dealership and pay $1 or something for one asap.

I think the only one I would is the standard / all the other combos discussed already simply come down to personal preference and how things look to your eye / I for one like all gloss black but thats because my car is either AW or matte silver, all the other accents on my car are gloss and I like the contrast between the body color and the accents

Good thing is there are plenty of pics out there so you can get a very good idea of what things would like on your car
