Keeping the N55 in sport mode?

Curious to see if its not a good idea in the long term to keep the car in Sport mode. Also, what about sport mode and swiping the shifter to the left?

Usually im in normal mode and press the sport button when im bored in these LA streets.

I drive with the stick in S position 100% of the time. About 50% of the time I manual shift with the paddles. I hate the lower shift point of D.

and this doesn't have any bearing on the long term life of the car? I presumed it could lead to quicker wear and tear of the mechanical components...

Sport mode will just adjust the throttle response, so there is no worry to have here. For the gearbox sport setting, it will make it shift quicker, so one could argue that there is a bit more stress on the gearbox.
A lot of us only drive in S or M mode (I do) and never have issues. I think if it was stressing the components there would be a warning in the handbook, like there is one for the launch control.

Sport mode most of the time for me and manual shifting 95% of the time when in sport. When my Wife drives the car is the only time it stays in D
