don't know if HR is OEM anything, and at least for E90 Sachs was OEM for suspension I think. Someone more knowledgeable correct me perhaps.

I test drove a new F30 328i over the weekend and still find the compression damping to be too much and rebound damping lacking. Installing sport springs only is not an upgrade, but rather a down grade performance wise.

Coming from 14+ years in BMW suspension tuning...If going with springs only, struts and shocks with better valving is a must. Coilovers are usually match in terms of spring rates and valving so not only you get the looks you are after, the performance doesn't suffer either.

FYI.... The super sport don't evenly drop the front and the back of the f30. The front sits higher.

I'm glad I'm not the only one running around debunking this perpetual 'wives tale'.

I've personally had; springs only, springs w/(shocks/struts) and full coil-overs. Ride quality/handling is nearly identical in all aspects. With C/O having an edge.

What gets me is people will say things like "get Koni's with those Eibach springs, springs alone will be awful". WTF?

What makes the Koni's more compatible with the Eibachs that the OEM's? Do they have a magic configuration compatible with every ride height/spring rate combo?

it would be pretty bad if the car is constantly bottoming out due to the shorter spring.
