Hey, all I'm saying that since you dynoed now 468.6whp with e50 and upgraded turbos and the base line was 252.5whp so you gained 216whp. Even if the power is not quite at the typical RB level, it would be a bad idea to just turn boost or timing up since you have heavy timing corrections in two cylinders already. PTF should have noticed this. Something is wrong. The car is not running as healthy as it should.

Your power figures and gains are a lot lower than what you told as you were most likely reading the wrong line; power at crank. The power at the wheels is only 468whp. Luckily, Maha dyno reads a tad lower than dj though but the power would be still below 500 dynojet whp.

Nice job Ben....I vote more E! (100% E85) and then some tuning adjustments to your Timing Cor. Factor (Charge Air Temp) table.

We'll talk more later on how we can get this done.

Log and timeslip same run same fuel.
Dyno i know was the right e50 mix for sure but didnt log.
Still gained over 200hp 252 vs 468.
Dyno can read 100hp for all i care.
Trap mph vs stock unmodded v8 cars on the same night is a very good benchmark. Since we know what they make.

Ill do some more logs and check it out.

quick update we thought the trans was slipping at full boost under high loads. it got worse and finally threw a code. Misfires.
New coil packs. night and day difference. should make better passes now in this cool 50-70 degree weather.

What started out as a budget build now invested way too much. I typically change projects every 12 months easily.
If your thinking turbo swap is inexpensive alt to a blown e9x m3 or ctsv its not reality!

Why i like this build...
The turbo spool sounds are so addicting, no roof but feels like a coupe, easily fits a front facing baby seat, Msport wheel, cic drive, and the majority of people have no idea its a sleeper.

Why id sell it..
Exhaust note. (PE exhaust upgrade it to o.k. sound?)
997TT cab steal came along.

For now ill DD it, enjoy the boosted commute, and enjoy free activities like troubleshoot iNPA to get coding, alpina flash, etc. While curbing my addiction to the classifieds temptation for lci tails, csl trunk, st coils, and pe exhaust.

I don't know why people are surprised by the numbers... they look about right to me. People have unrealistically high expectations. Also, Goodspeed uses a maha dyno and it'll break hearts.

Looks great to me though, beautiful car!

I don't know about those number either...

I have an E90 335XI that a Mustang Dyno showed hitting 365awhp and I got 12.3@113mph in the 1/4. FBO, E60+50/50 Meth.

DA's are rough here. Comparing times of friends cars e63, c63, str8, mustangs camaros, etc. Cars seem to put down lower times at wild horse pass in AZ. Iat of 180f didnt help.

Going to vbox test is this nice weather.

Trap speed is way off! I don't care if that car is 5000lbs for 500+ rwhp thats nasty. My GT500 With just a intake/tune made 521rwhp on pump and trapped 123mph on street tires and that pig weighted in at probably 4300+lbs with me in it.

Inlets.... The marketplace is a war zone at the moment.
Ive read quite a bit but to test my understanding is a 50-70hp gain with less boost (means less heat?) is the benefit to an RB e50 cobb car?

I'm in Scottsdale now (was in Chandler). Yes the inlets make a big difference. The power won't fall off up top quite the same, or you can make the same power with less wgdc, less heat, etc. Worth doing for sure.

Ive been on E50 map version 9 from PTF for well over a year now with many different kind of track days. Under 2yrs ago the car truly became a "SET IT AND FORGET IT" car. Ive been living The ULTIMATE tuner DREAM! Worth mentioning hours and hours of forum research and modding the platform since 2010 has definitely been a factor. HPDE: Litchfield park with Pro Autosports in November 2015:
For the event I Added APEX 17" square setup with Hankook soft tires. Really enjoy the cushy sidewall ride for daily driving, and haven't switched back. Also did the high temp Brake fluid.
Car performed well. Stayed cool!! No heat issues AT ALL. Props to COBB and PTF!
I definitely felt the weight in this car on the track vs my e90. Roof was down for the WHOLE DAY! Its absolute bliss with no roof at the track! I did get a little to aggressive and went into the dirt once following a boosted civic hatch line (much lighter car, totally different line than 4200lb bmw LOL). Going into the dust with the roof down its an absolute dirt SHOWER! HAHAHA!
I was behind a buddy in a c6z06 that put a rod thru the oil pan, i think it was the notorious failure that plagues the platform. Very scary and sad to see the car leave on a flat bed and pretty much need a brand new engine at 30k miles. He just purchased a katech engine from a guy at bondurant so that should be insane.
Overall the Car did great WAY more POWER in the straights than the stock BRAKES can handle with all the 4200lbs.

NoFlyZone December 2015:
Weather was perfect! Went run after run, after run, after run. I ran against a ESS625 M3 coupe cf roof many times and each time they wanted to go from a dig. For some reason this car hates brake boosting and HARD WOT launches, the car misfires and will go into limp if you stay in it. the logs proved it wasn't octane or fuel. I ran E50 mix ratio but used 100oct plus e85 instead of the 91 blend.

Drive home and to work like normal for the next few months and thousands of miles with no issues.

Jan or feb 2016: went in for an oil change and the tech discovered an OEM inlet pipe was disconnected from rear turbo (i think) no idea if it had always been like this and could be related to my misfires at the track??? They also found front turbo oil line had been patched on the orig install who a different shop had mentioned it was too short years ago. SO the fix was just installed a brand new turbo oil line. All buttoned up!!

Haven't track tested or logged since.

Last summer i believe I was running the E50 all summer long through the extreme heat. THIS summer I've been running just normal 91 oct and last weekend it was 115F and under some load on a highway ramp i would get a misfire. I refilled the tank with Shell this time and haven't had a problem all week. I am sure i could look at the codes and do coil pack musical chairs to narrow it down.

Life is extremely busy now and the car just runs great. Very glad I put in the work 2yrs ago, NO REGRETS for this ALL around performer! SUB $40k I have yet to FIND a better power, luxury, daily, OEM plus setup with "the ROOF GONE!!"

I rarely run E50 anymore bc there are few cars on the street than can compete, and this car just doesn't attract challenges. Most of the population has still not heard of this incredible platform. I still get "nice M3" "is it an m3" comments. My CTSV was every stoplight someone would try.

I have been seriously considering a P85 model S but I just CANNOT give up the boosted vert! From a financial perspective this e93 is probably only worth $20-$23k modded and there is nothing else for the money even close to justify a sale.







Oil changes every 5k

Fuel and drive.
Still on the same set of rotors and pads.

That dyno run was done a couple years back on software version 4 or so. Im on version 9 now and haven't done a dyno since. I am guessing it makes more power now.


In addition I sold my inlets bc after looking at all the logs the cars fuel system is maxed out and it wasn't worth the 8-10 hrs of labor to install the inlets with no real benefit. I have no plans to invest another $3k or so into the big fuel system upgrades and hours of tuning. Then ill start risking reliability, 6AT failure, axel failures, drive shaft failures, and for what I use it for an extra 100hp wouldn't change the game one way or another.

17x9 DEEP concave (none of that weak concave BS) the guys at apex technically explained why square is better on the road course and sold me on it. They know their STUFF!

for the street the rear needs a spacer. front sits nice.

Paint correction, and interior detail. I over maintain my cars.
Also repainted grill. From the chips you can see i DRIVE it and ENJOY it daily!

I ran a 12.68 @ 113 mph with a tune only 135i 6AT (N54) using 18" MT Drag Radials on a prepped track at 5500ft elevation.

With the power you making you should be in the 11's if you run on decent tyres. M3/M4's with ~ 480 - 500 whp run high 11's on drag radials at 120+ mph at our elevation. At lower altitude times will be quicker.

You have a very nicely modded car, but the weight is killing your performance. I'd personally also take your car to another "well-known" dyno to get another power reference.

Good to hear your enjoying your 135i! A 135i is too small for a baby seat and has a roof its a performer but not applicable here.

For reference a ess625 m3 put down under 510whp same day.

Yes the weight definitely makes the car slower WELL worth the penalty to have no roof and a back seat for the kiddo!



The car was built to do everything, all day, everyday, consistently sub $40k and well under $50k+ 977tt prices. The trade off is it wont ever win a trophy at the track.

After the airstrip i think the car is putting down the right power given my competition!
