I still remember when I begged my mom to get the black/white XI's with the black/red MJ jersey back in the 5th grade. The first time I saw him play, it was a wrap. I fell in love with the game instantly.

I had 'em and actually wore them to play basketball instead of savings them as a collector's item. Who the f' knew?!

And how I loved going to watch him play in the old Chicago stadium. Something I'll never forget.

M Juice is the best ever. People underestimate how how smart and well-conditioned he was. Scottie doesn't get the recognition he deserves; he's maybe a top 10 player.

oh for sure, and such a nice guy too. He had his kids birthday party at my pool a few years back and was just super friendly and really nice. He signed autographs for EVERYONE in the fricking building even though he knew he didn't have to... we tried to keep the party as private as possible but he insisted. He'll get his recognition soon enough, hes HOF eligible next year and I don't see it taking more than 1 ballot for him to get in

MJ just did it all...Plus once he retired he purchased the Jumpman logo from Nike and has several current basketball players on his label so his symbol(his likeness) will go on forever. No other athlete has done something like that before outside of the NBA logo (modeled after west)

One can argue his being or not being the the greatest ever all day. What seperated him from everyone else was his work ethic, brains, and most importantly his competitive nature. He was gifted but certainly not the most gifted athlete to grace the sport but that competitiveness elevated him above EVERYBODY. He put the other legends out of business. The "there is no 'I' in team, but there is an 'I' in win" comment ... fucking epic! Anybody remember when he fouled the guy in the '92 olympics and the guy burst into tears because he had just been fouled by Michael Jordan?? Holy shit!
Kinda off-topic but I think this is the same thing that made the aforementioned Walter Payton one of the greatest ever, also.
