Who buys a Cadillac to track? If you can afford to track most will go with a 911 or M car.

You realize M3/4s are trapping 126-127 MPH with just a JB4, downpipes, and some race gas...right? They won't be "smoking" M4s anytime soon, especially by next year when the M3/4 tuning market is more mature.

Haven't cared to dig up specs, but it will be more evident once powerband and turbo specs are released to see how much GM left on the table. Considering that the M's turbos are tapped out at roughly 550-570 RWHP, the ATS-V could have the potential for power if the turbos are properly sized. Regardless, I doubt there will be many 130+ MPH bolt-on ATS-Vs. It's not a GTR...

What company sold you that report?

You want to bet there are more Mazda MX-5 on track than M cars?

I am really digging the ATS (overall). Not so much of a fan of the hood on the V, but I think it's something I could get past once in the driver's seat.

Yes, the Miata (MX-5) is the most tracked car in the world. That's a testament to the support and economic sensibility of the car.

Not that it helps this point but I only know one avid weekend track racer and he uses a 911 Turbo Venom 620.

My local track has car storage. I would say more than half are miatas. A lot of vettes as well.

But this has no bearing on how track worthy the new ATS-V will be. Quite possibly even more so than the M4. That statement above is ignorant at best.

M cars can't even compete on the track with mid-level Camaros on decade-old chassis'. They are very good modified family sedans, but certainly not track cars.

Can they please start getting the rears of these cars looking right? Just like with the CTS-V, the front end looks great but the rear end seems like an afterthought. Almost like they spent a year designing the front, and a week on the rear. A real shame.
