Looking for CF Roundels

Dear Forum Vendors,

As far as I know, there isn't really a good solution in terms of carbon fiber roundels for the 1 series. The hood isn't much of a problem, but last I heard, there are no options for trunk fitment. This may have changed (the last time I was looking for roundels was over a year ago).

So... any vendors have front and back roundels for the E82 in carbon fiber? Either black and white or black and red. Doesn't matter to me.

Please let me know, because I am tired of all the stickers!

Thanks!

Also - sorry if this isn't in the right place. I figured a lot of vendors would see it here and I have seen other members post here with no problems or anything.

Also interested in this. I might go monochrome but I'm having trouble finding a full set of those too.

What about these on eBay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARBON-FIBER...ht_3643wt_1159

I now you are looking for Vendors but I just bought these on Ebay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/270964889392...84.m1497.l2649

...received today. i can post a pic later if you wish, or maybe you are looking for a better quality Mfg. They dont look bad and should be better than those darn stickers. The hood emblem kept shrinking due to the heat.

Sorry 1speedbike...dont mean to jack the thread

Here is a pic. front and back of the plate and roundel. The roundel has adhesive, but I may add superglue to be safe. Larger one is for the hood and smaller for the trunk.

Don't use superglue, it eats through paint. Maybe automotive double sided tape would work, if it's not too thick.

Thanks for the pic, they look good. I ended up going with the monochrome roundels from SVC. Still had to order the trunk roundel on eBay since they said its permanently out of stock.

Not a thread jack at all! I have gotten wheel roundels from ebay before and the quality definitely wasn't OEM... but then again it wasn't bad at all, either. A little dull, but nobody could notice the difference and the CF weave was pretty spot on, like yours.

Can't find a similar listing with both roundels though. I'm getting single trunk and single hood roundels for about $15-20 each, but I guess that's better than nothing. If no vendors chime in that they have this product, I'll go the eBay route.

And... dear vendors... if you have roundels that fit:

You can use the E90 trunk roundel. You will have to cut the pins off and then use 3M double back tape to hold it on. Worked for me.

Hard to tell, without a side shot. But what the hell for $10.00 try it.

Yeah it's hard to tell. 73mm certainly seems right, but from what I remember our trunks have a weird concavity to them where the roundel goes so it's weird. I could also be wrong, I just know the trunk roundel is a PITA.

The E90 roundel has the same "concavity" as ours have, just the pins are different.

The trunk roundel fits but does not have the same shape (concavity as Speedbike said). I used thick 3M dbl sided tape and black caulk to fill the gap. Doesnt look bad but there was no other option.

Yep, I ended up buying something similar, except my kit had a stick on steering wheel roundel too. The steering wheel roundel is actually part of the air bag cover, so you can't take it out. I just stuck it on.

The prongs on the trunk roundel in the kit that I got were in a slightly different location than they should have been. I ended up cutting them off and using layers of 3M tape to fix the concavity issue. Still have a bit of gap in some areas, but not noticeable until you look close. And as for the hood, I have a CF hood so no holes for prongs, so I ended up cutting the prongs off the hood emblem too and just taping it on. Hood looks fine.

I just wish there was a better way...
